Seminaris Hotel Lüneburg reinvents itself

20 extraordinary conference rooms for up to 320 people, a modern interior design in industrial design and a creative cuisine: The Seminaris Hotel Lüneburg, as the parent company of the hotel group, has been an established name in the Hamburg metropolitan region for four decades. Now it has completely reinvented itself in the best sense, following extensive refurbishment and offers not only different, high-quality room categories and outstanding culinary delights, but also ideal conditions for meetings, with the emphasis on the "New Work" concept.

Thanks to a well thought-out package of measures relating to hygiene, catering and guest care, the hotel, like all Seminaris hotels, is optimally equipped to comply with the security regulations for Covid-19. From masks at check-in to breakfast in the room to a coffee break directly in the conference room, everything is established to ensure a relaxed overnight stay, meetings and meals. The hotel team focuses above all on attentive and sensitive care of the visitors as well as a maximum of flexibility.

Extensive renovation in 2019

From May 2019 to January 2020 the hotel, which is located directly at the spa gardens of the city, was extensively renovated. The new industrial design is pleasantly casual and very versatile: natural materials and wood-panelled walls create a warm atmosphere. Exposed ceilings suddenly come into their own – and the rooms visually gain height. Concrete radiates clarity and on the walls you can discover exciting details, such as original construction drawings from 1972, which were sketched onto the material at the time.

High expectations in terms of appearance and functionality

"The Seminaris hotels are turning into think tanks. We have created a creative environment in which companies can develop new ideas and shape change processes – beyond frontal meetings," says Patrick Krüger, General Manager of Seminaris Hotel Lüneburg. The rooms were not only designed to be visually appealing, the company also sets the highest standards in terms of functionality. For example, there are flexible walls that can be written on. And trainers who work according to the "New Work" concept will find all the materials they need for their workshops on site. Special trainers are provided by the company through its own network, as are moderators and keynote speakers.

Ball pool for adults

Guests‘ creativity is stimulated by unusual features and rooms – for example, a huge ball pool where adults can take an inspiring bath. "This way, you can switch off strategic thinking for a while and search for ideas more easily," explains Patrick Krüger. There are islands of calm or a kicker table for relaxing breaks. And there is a completely darkened room – the Darkroom, in which a projector shines star images onto the black ceiling. "In the silence here you can withdraw and relax or hold meetings. This unusual environment gives special impulses." A further highlight is a rhetoric studio in which voice, gestures and facial expressions can be trained under professional conditions and assignments as a speaker on large stages can be simulated.

Creative craftsmanship

The Seminaris Hotel Lüneburg is a place of tranquillity and relaxation, but also of meeting and communication. Several long tables in the restaurant area, which can seat up to twelve people, show how friends can sit together and discuss – and eat very well: The in-house à-la-carte restaurant ;Catalpa was reopened and convinces with a regional menu. In the Seminaris Hotel, the cuisine has been redesigned, the brunch has been revitalized and a gastronomic concept has been developed that convinces guests with fresh, regional and seasonal dishes.
