Opel is Electric: Emission-Free Fun from Corsa-e to Zafira-e Life
- Electrifying: superior driving performance, long ranges, full practicality
- Effortless: With the electric models from Opel, battery charging is easy
Opel is electric, as demonstrated by the wide range of electric models that the carmaker already has on offer. Customers can enjoy emission-free driving of vehicles sized from small to large. The portfolio ranges from the battery-electric small car bestseller Opel Corsa-e to the pioneering new Opel Mokka-e, to Opel Vivaro-e and Opel Zafira-e Life as well as the Opel Grandland X as plug-in hybrid. Strong acceleration and ranges of up to 337 kilometres (Corsa-e) in the WLTP1 cycle make the electric vehicles from Opel fun and suitable for everyday use.
In addition, they enable a wide choice of charging options as a standard feature. In the coming year, Opel will expand its portfolio with the “e”-versions of Combo, Combo Life, Movano and the new Astra. And by 2024 the brand with the “Blitz” will have electrified versions of all its models.
Strong performance: Enjoyable driving without range anxiety
The Opel Grandland X Hybrid4 ensures driving pleasure from the very first tap of the accelerator. Under its sporty, elegant body there is a system output of 221kW (300hp) and maximum torque of 520 Newton meters, as well as electric all-wheel drive (WLTP1 fuel consumption: 1.4-1.3 l/100 km, CO2 emissions 32-29 g/km NEDC2, both combined: 1.6-1.5 l/100 km, 36-34 g/km CO2). This means that the plug-in hybrid is not only safely on track in adverse conditions, it can also accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds.
The purely battery-electric Opel models provide just as much fun, for example the “Golden Steering Wheel 2020” title holder Corsa-e. Its electric motor delivers 100kW (136hp) and 260 Nm of maximum torque from the first turn of the motor It accelerates from zero to 50 km/h in 2.8 seconds and on to 100 km/h in 8.1s. The driver can choose between three drive modes: Normal, Eco and Sport. “Sport” particularly suits a dynamic driving style, delivering a more direct response from the accelerator and steering. In contrast, in “Eco”, the vehicle is trimmed for optimum energy-efficiency. With its 50kWh battery, the Corsa-e can cover up to 337km in the WLTP1 cycle on a single charge of the battery.
All options covered: Recharging made easy
When drivers of an electric Opel model need to recharge, they have a free choice. For example, the 50kWh battery of the Corsa-e can be “refilled” to 80 per cent state-of-charge in 30 minutes at a 100kW DC (direct current) station. This capability is a standard feature of the Corsa-e as well as the Mokka-e, Zafira-e Life and Vivaro-e.
Regardless of whether it is a wall box, high-speed charging or a cable for the household socket – the electric models from Opel are prepared for all charging options from single-phase to three-phase charging with 11kW AC (alternating current). And for everyone who likes to travel without limits, the optional “Universal Charger” is the best solution. With its three adapters, the mobile charger can be connected to almost any household socket up to three-phase, as well as to public charging stations.
