Carling Technologies® Introduces N-Series Hydraulic-Magnetic Circuit Breaker with 22,000 Amp Interrupting Capacity for the Datacom and Telecom Industries
With a low-profile form that fits the smaller space requirements of today’s electronic equipment, the N-Series has been uniquely designed for integration into power distribution units and rack systems. The N-Series features line and load terminals at the top and bottom of the casing, making it easier to install the breaker in tight spaces. The N-Series also offers a number of safety features that are well-suited for the datacom and telecom industries.
To prevent accidental tripping, the N-Series incorporates Carling’s proprietary and patent-pending switching system, offering a flush rocker actuator and push to reset guard. The N-Series then adds UL 489 compliant sliding terminal barriers that seamlessly glide into place. Safety is further reinforced on the inside of the breaker by the inclusion of an enhanced arc chamber, ensuring rapid tripping and cooling to prevent serious equipment damage and fire.
The design of the N-Series breaker has also been created with convenience features directly applicable to the telecom and datacom industries. An optional current transformer senses current down to one percent, allowing for remote outlet metering of power usage via a Molex Connector. This function facilitates monitoring of customer consumption, enabling more accurate and efficient billing.
The N-Series is a 1 – 2 pole hydraulic-magnetic circuit breaker, featuring a 1 – 30-amp current rating. Designed to withstand temperatures up to 85 degrees C, the N-Series breaker by Carling offers dependable performance in a slim design. When combined with the breaker’s 22,000-amp maximum interrupting capacity and integrated safety features, the breaker offers a rugged and dependable option for today’s telecom and datacom industries.
