Dynamic system platform for individual unitised construction projects
Schüco UDC 80 aluminium façade
The Schüco UDC 80 aluminium façade is part of the UDC façade platform. Scalable, tested assemblies form the basis for a wide variety of standardised applications and for tailored, project-specific unitised façade constructions. The dynamic system therefore facilitates the realisation of projects and reduces the amount of planning and testing required. At the same time, the system components offer a high level of flexibility and system reliability in order to meet individual requirements.
The product portfolio of the Schüco UDC 80 aluminium façade comprises a diverse range of designs with a framed look. The continuous profile face width of 80 mm allows for maximum façade transparency. Cover caps are available as design options and can be used to create a visually reduced sightline of just 65 mm – with the same high load-bearing structural properties. As a result, large unit dimensions of 3 x 4 metres and maximum unit weights of 1000 kg are possible.
The Schüco UDC 80 aluminium façade also sets new standards in terms of energy efficiency with Uf values as low as 0.81 W/(m2K) including screw factor. Furthermore, in conjunction with the new Schüco ZIP Design Screen textile sun shading, which is concealed, wind-resistant and features guide tracks integrated in the profile, cooling loads in the building can be reduced whilst retaining attractive façade architecture.
Design expertise
A further advantage of the system is the high level of design freedom with horizontally offset units, diagonal sash bars or the use of opaque units. Opaque areas of the unit can be designed using a wide variety of different materials, such as metal sheets, printed glass and natural stone. These can be integrated either flush or cantilevered in the façade unit to create deep offsets using system attachment components.
When combined with balconies as a project solution, mechatronically controlled insert units and project-specific, highly weather-resistant ASE 80 TC sliding doors (Aluminium Sliding Element, 80 mm basic depth, Tight Closer) also allow for a function-oriented design for high-rise residential buildings. Where floor-to-ceiling opening units are used, the required safety barrier loading is achieved by means of a transparent, profile-integrated spandrel safety barrier, which blends in seamlessly and attractively into the unitised façade appearance, without interrupting the profile.
Schüco UDC 80 CV aluminium façade
The Schüco UDC 80 aluminium façade can be combined with the Schüco UDC 80 CV façade, which has concealed projected top-hung and parallel-opening vents. The two unitised façades look the same from the outside. Viewed from inside, the UDC 80 CV system only differs in the window handle for the opening unit.
Schüco UDC 80 SG aluminium façade
The Schüco UDC 80 SG aluminium façade looks impressive on the outside with the expansive appearance of an all-glass façade; on the inside its design is that of a unitised façade with narrow face widths of only 80 mm. Furthermore, a high level of design freedom is assured thanks to horizontally offset units and the use of opaque units or diagonal sash bars. The Schüco AWS 114 SG window series enables large insert units to be created as projected top-hung or parallel-opening windows, with a stepped insulating glass version that ensures seamless integration in the façade. Three different solutions are available for bonding the insulating glass to the load-bearing structure: direct bonding to the load-bearing structure, bonding by means of an anodised adapter profile, or bonding to a glass replacement frame for simple glass replacement.
