Revolutionary miniature motor

Small, lightweight and designed for easy integration: LiNK was developed by PiezoMotor with the goal of revolutionizing medical engineering applications and lab automation. The Swedish company specializes in motors that operate on the piezoelectric principle, which eliminates numerous elements of a conventional electric motor and is therefore ideal for miniaturization. Not only the size of the motor is unique, but also the weight: It is hardly bigger than a thumbnail and, at three grams, weighs about as much as a small coin.

LiNK can be used to full advantage in every type of application requiring linear motions in very small spaces. As a linear direct drive, the actuator needs no gears or shafts, which saves additional space and weight, in a low-maintenance and virtually wear-free design. That makes it suitable for complex dosing tasks, for example, such as those performed by an insulin pump or an auto-injector. These applications require energy-efficient solutions that are reliable and easy to control.
