All set: Corona vaccinations start at MAN
– Extension of the protection concept against Covid-19 to include voluntary vaccinations
– Vaccinations at all sites in Germany as part of the national vaccination strategy as of 8 June 2021
From 8 June 2021, employees at MAN sites in Germany can be vaccinated against Covid-19. All preparations for this, such as the procurement of materials and the construction of the vaccination lines, have been completed and the delivery of the vaccine has been confirmed. Depending on the availability of vaccines, as many employees as possible will thus be given the opportunity to be immunised in the coming weeks.
"From the very beginning of the pandemic, our primary goal has been to protect employees from infection and to help slow the spread of Covid-19," said Dr Martin Rabe, Chief Human Resources Officer and Labour Director at MAN Truck & Bus, summarising the company’s ambition. "That is why we have worked very hard to be able to offer vaccinations as early as possible in the plants as part of the national vaccination strategy. By immunising our employees, we are entering the next phase in the fight against the Corona pandemic."
As part of the vaccination campaign, all employees will get the opportunity to be vaccinated during working hours and on company premises in the coming weeks. The vaccination offer thus complements the existing protective measures. This includes a comprehensive testing concept with PCR as well as rapid antigen tests in the event of suspected cases and Corona infections in the workforce – always with the aim of interrupting infection chains at an early stage. MAN also offers one to two optional self-tests per week.
MAN Truck & Bus supports the ambition to immunise as many people as possible as quickly as possible. It is therefore only logical that the company’s medical service also offers vaccinations for employees itself as soon as this is possible. "We want to help achieve rapid vaccination coverage of the population," emphasises Dr Oliver Breitkopf, Chief Medical Officer at MAN Truck & Bus SE. Preparations for the start of vaccination have been completed at all German sites, for example by setting up cooling facilities and procuring the necessary consumables.
