The modernisation of the armed forces calls for new solutions
Future soldier programs – ASA in the US, GSA in Great Britain, IdZ-ES / Gladius 2.0 in Germany and GOSSRA in the EU – and military equipment will definitely need connectors that meet the new challenges:
- Climatic challenges – extreme low or high temperatures
- Digital push challenges within the field of soldier wearables, here we are speaking of the deployment of augmented reality and real time data transmission, night vision systems, laser modules or C4ISTAR systems
Also the next generation of tactical helmets, power equipment & power distribution systems for tactical radios and reconnaissance equipment for long-range surveillance and special reconnaissance will need reliable, secure and high-performance connectors.
What is special about this new insert?
A larger contact diameter of 0.7 mm for higher robustness under heavy mechanical impact. The 7-pin pole configuration offers a more future-proof alternative than any other 6-pole NETT-Warrior connector does. The performance requirements increase, customers will look for a suitable alternative to meet the high demands.
Possible applications:
- C4ISTAR
- Reconnaissance , Surveillance
- Advanced Weapon accessory
- Communication
- Radios
- Mobile Device
- Power distribution systems
- HUB`s
- Augmented Reality
- Hearing protection with integrated headset
- Counter IED (for Training & Combat situations)
ODU AMC® High-Density, Size 0 and 12 position inserts
Furthermore, ODU has built a new insert that allows a USB 3.2 Gen1x1 plus 5A power transmission. It offers easier PCB-routing than the old version, which requires a more complex rigid-flex structure.
Possible applications:
Soldier-wearable technology such as GPS, tactical computers, C4ISTAR-Sytems etc. and for any application and market where size and weight are important.
