From Opel Corsa-e to Vivaro-e: 100 kW DC Fast-Charging is a „Given“
- Opel e-vehicles equipped for 100 kW DC fast-charging
- Even Corsa-e and Mokka-e small-class cars capable of fast-charging as standard
- 7.4 and 11 kW on-board chargers also allow single-phase and 3-phase AC charging
- Variety of recharging options, from wallbox or domestic socket to “Universal Charger”
It does not matter what Opel battery-electric model customers drive – Corsa-e, Combo-e Life, Mokka-e, Zafira-e Life or the Combo-e and Vivaro-e light commercial vehicles (LCV) – they are always able to fast-charge the battery with up to 100 kW DC at a public charging station – as standard and regardless of the vehicle class, and whether the vehicle is equipped with a 7.4 kW or 11 kW on-board charger. For example, at 100 kW DC, the 50 kWh battery of the Corsa-e can be fast-charged to 80 per cent of capacity in 30 minutes.
In addition, the Opel battery-electric vehicles are ready for all other charging options, from single-phase to three-phase AC at 11 kW, via wallbox or cable for the domestic plug socket. Furthermore, the “Universal Charger” with infrastructure-specific adapters allows charging at nearly all local plug sockets and public charging stations.
The Universal Charger unites the functions of “Mode 2” and “Mode 3” cables with various adapters in a single device. Customers can connect the charger to nearly all country specific household plug sockets. The Universal Charger is therefore ideal for customers who normally charge their car overnight at home and for those who occasionally make longer journeys and need to recharge while travelling.
In order to make driving even more relaxing, “OpelConnect”, the “myOpel” app and “Free2Move” offer special solutions for electric vehicles. For example with the “myOpel” app, range and charging status can be checked and the charging start time at a wallbox at home can be programmed. Another comfort plus: owners can also conveniently preselect air conditioning and heating from the couch using the “myOpel” app.
One of the Free2Move services available on request is the “Charge My Car” charging pass, which enables access to more than 220,000 charging points in Europe via the Free2Move app.
Fun to drive: Battery-electric vehicles combine performance with zero emissions
Driving Opel e-models combines emission-free operation with an exhilarating experience. The electric motor produces 100 kW (136 hp) and 260 Newton metres of maximum torque is immediately available from a standing start. The Corsa-e, for example accelerates from zero to 50 km/h in 2.8 seconds and on to 100 km/h in 8.1s.
Drivers can choose between three drive modes – Normal, Eco and Sport – for a good balance or the most fun, depending on their preferences. While driving, the current battery state-of-charge, energy consumption and range can be monitored on a separate menu displayed on the infotainment screen at the touch of a button.
Battery-electric vehicles are part of Opel’s comprehensive electrification offensive. The tradition-rich German carmaker already has nine electrified vehicle lines on the market including electric plug-in hybrids. Opel’s product portfolio will be fully electrified by 2024. The brand will focus entirely on battery electric vehicles in Europe as of 2028.
