Yet again, PASCHAL demonstrates total formwork expertise with the very latest of wind power systems
These two megawind turbines are the first of the new 5.X platform from Siemens Gamesa in Germany. They are scheduled to enter service in 2022.
To enable one of the most powerful onshore wind power facilities in the world to deliver green electricity promptly, the gigantic and separate foundations for these two megawatt wind turbines were completed at the end of 2021.
TTR formwork used for the circular additional load enclosure
The external diameter of a circular mast foundation measures 23.00 m. To ensure that load is transmitted into the substrate safely, piles were first driven down until they encountered a viable base layer.
To absorb the fulcrum forces around the perpendicular axis safely, additional load was applied to the steel-reinforced concrete foundations. To enclose the material used for this additional load, a steel-reinforced concrete wall measuring 30 cm in thickness had to be concreted in with an internal diameter of 22.40 m. To accomplish this, the construction company carrying out the work, Terraform GmbH, used TTR circular trapezoidal girder formwork with a formwork height of 1.50 + 0.37 m.
The circular trapezoidal girder formwork was precurved, then delivered in ready-to-use form to the construction site by B.B.F. Handels- und Vermietungs GmbH, PASCHAL’s commercial partner. Each enclosure could then have formwork installed and cemented in a single operation.
For installation of the turbine wheel
To enable the components of the turbine wheels to be installed, the cranes needed to have very robust base platforms as well as equally robust plots of land to support the gigantic counterweights. PASCHAL’s Modular/GE universal formwork was used to install the foundations for these service areas.
