New High-bay Warehouse in Chevenez
“This investment drives our corporate strategy to become a sustainable and first-class company in order to consolidate our leading position in the production of industrial vacuum pumps,” said Christian Hoffmann, Managing Director of Ateliers Busch, in his speech.
With the laying of the foundation stone for the high-bay warehouse, the Busch family has also laid another cornerstone for Busch’s future in Chevenez. After its completion, the high-bay warehouse will be used to automatically supply the production lines there.
The new building is part of the "Smart Logistics" concept, which enables synchronization of work with material provision. According to the “goods-to-man” principle, the parts for the assembly of a Busch product will come to the employees as required and will not have to be collected by them as before. This means short, needs-based storage times and lean supply chains.
When completed, the new high-bay warehouse will be 23 meters high. Like Busch Vacuum Solutions’ high-bay warehouse at its headquarters in Maulburg, Germany, the new high-bay warehouse in Chevenez will be equipped with an active fire prevention system from the Wagner Group. By lowering the oxygen level inside, no fire can ignite. For this innovation, Wagner was awarded the “Innovation in Vacuum Busch Award” in 2017.
Sami Busch, co-owner of Busch Vacuum Solutions, stated in his speech: “I think that this investment in the production site in Chevenez is a new step. This is yet another step in the future and in the relationship between Chevenez, the Canton of Jura and Busch. We look forward to a successful future.”
