BvL: New tilt sensor for silage block cutter ensures straight cuts

Bernard van Lengerich Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG (BvL) in Emsbüren has offered silage block cutters for decades. The various machines – from the most efficient V-LOAD Cutter Topstar to the Master series for large-format cutting – as well as the accessory components have continuously undergone further development.

A new product from BvL is the V-CONNECT Cut Control tilt sensor. This battery-operated accessory is designed for easy screw mounting on the block cutter. Its purpose: to ensure that the silage block cutter always cuts straight into the silage. This has positive effects on both the cut surface and the machine itself. Because, vertical alignment of the block cutter during operation is important for even distribution of the force on the cutting arm to guarantee a long service life.

When the block cutter is aligned vertically, the tilt sensor automatically calibrates when the machine is switched on. The LED indicator lights up green from top to bottom. If the block cutter tilts forward or backward, the indicator changes from green to yellow/red. This indicates to the operator that the block cutter needs to be realigned and in which direction.

The sensitivity of the V-CONNECT Cut Control, and therefore also the size of the tilt angle, can be adjusted in the box.

The box is splash-proof and features a battery-saving standby function. The V-CONNECT Cut Control therefore meets the high BvL standard for optimal performance in daily use at diverse farms.
