W3+ Fair Wetzlar 2023 – the enabling technologies meet again in the optics location at the end of March
Developers and users in the automotive, aerospace, medtech, life science, consumer electronics and tools & machinery sectors should make a note of March 29 + 30, 2023: Then the W3+ Fair Wetzlar (w3-fair.com) will open its doors again. The cross-industry platform for enabling technologies calls companies from optics, photonics, electronics and mechanics to the economically strong high-tech region of Wetzlar/ Central Hesse to jointly drive new innovations. Exhibitors such as OptoTech, Schunk, Carl Zeiss, IMT, Keba, Universal Photonics, QED, Trioptics, the Dutch Technology Alliance and – new – Hamamatsu, Vario Optics and Harmonic Drive use the trade fair to present their latest products.
In addition to the multidisciplinary exhibition, visitors can learn about current trend topics at the accompanying conference en-tech.talks. Renowned speakers will give talks on the topics of medical technology & life science, technology & quality assurance, production of the future, and digitalization & management. An EPIC TechWatch will also be given a stage: the world’s largest photonics association is bringing user companies to the trade show to formulate their needs for cutting-edge technology. The lecture program will be complemented by a Start-up Pitch – organized by Regionalmanagement Mittelhessen.
At the Innovation Area, companies from the fields of 3D printing, digitization, automation, robotics and AI will showcase the latest developments in cross-sectional technologies. The VDI and the IHK Hessen innovativ will also be represented with booths and offer a technology portfolio of the region. "Microtechnology for optical devices" is the theme of the IVAM joint booth. The Thuringia joint booth presents high-tech from Germany’s other strong optical region around Jena.
For the first time, the Competence Center Ultraprecise Surface Processing UPOB is taking advantage of the trade show’s top-class high-tech environment to host its 13th High Level Expert Meeting (HLEM 2023). The two-day event on the topic of Asphere Metrology will kick off on the very day the fair is set up, March 28, 2023.

About the W3+ Fair
The event traces its roots back to an industry imitative organised in Wetzlar and Mittelhessen, and its objective is to interlink the four sectors of optics, photonics, electronics and mechanics. The aim is that new interfaces and points of contact will pave the way for forward-looking technologies. The trade fair debuted at the Rittal Arena in Wetzlar in February 2014. The W3+ Fair is organised by the Hamburg-based company, FLEET Events (www.fleet-events.de). In September 2019, the W3+ Fair Rheintal celebrated its premiere in the transnational region of Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany, with EPIC, Swissphotonics and Photonics Austria as its Gold Partners.
