ASPION introduces new IoT transport data logger with 360-degree live tracking
360-degree transparency in real time for impact/shock, climate and more
The new ASPION L-Track is particularly suitable for machinery and plant manufacturers who want to consistently monitor shock-sensitive, high-value equipment live in multimodal worldwide transport and track its current location and condition in real time. The special feature of all ASPION data loggers, including the new ASPION L-Track, is the detailed shock recording in milliseconds, supplemented by the unique shock and vibration test in accordance with the European transport standard. Damaging shocks are reliably and recognisably traceable – immediately after they occur. Combined with geo-coordinates, the recording of other environmental influences such as temperature, humidity or even opening or inclination detection, users receive 360-degree transparency of their systems around the globe in real time. This enables customers to react directly to events and initiate necessary measures.
Interaction of different components as integrated end-to-end solution
The live transport monitoring solution developed by ASPION consists of several components that interact perfectly to enable 360-degree tracking of any goods in a simple manner.
The ASPION L-Track IoT tracking device uses the energy-saving LTE-M standard and 2G as a fallback solution for secure and efficient live data transmission and IoT Internet of Things connectivity via mobile radio. Positioning is carried out cellular via mobile radio and can be extended if required to include GPS data accurate to the metre. Various sensors ensure seamless and transparent tracking of any events. The IoT device, which weighs around 250 grams and is equipped with replaceable standard batteries, has the size of a spectacle case, is waterproof, suitable for air freight and can be attached flexibly.
The powerful, web-based ASPION IoT platform with password-protected access is used to display and analyse location and sensor data. At the same time, it enables the easy management and control of devices, a role-based user management including alarms, and numerous administration functions.
Preview at the logistics trade fairs LogiMAT and transport logistic
The ASPION L-Track will be presented to the public for the first time at LogiMat (25 – 27.04.23, Stuttgart, Hall 8 Stand B17) and transport logistic (09 – 12.05.2023, Munich, Hall A3 Stand 230). The complete solution will be available in the second half of 2023.
ASPION GmbH develops and markets energy-optimized, smart data loggers with wireless communication for Industry 4.0 applications. In 2011, graduate engineer Michael Wöhr founded his company and multi-award winner from Karlsruhe. The aim of the precision sensor technology developed for transport monitoring is to significantly simplify the previously manual, inaccurate shock indicators or often awkwardly operated, expensive shock recorders and make them suitable for mass production. Today, the company offers the flagship ASPION G-Log 2, an easy-to-use, intelligent transport data logger with a market-leading price-performance ratio. With the ASPION L-Track, the high-tech specialist is expanding its product range with a globally active live tracking system as an end-to-end solution "Made in Germany". More than 500 industrial companies from all over the world are now among its customers.
