New Kampmann heat pump-based heater leading in terms of performance and acoustics
The sophisticated and visually aesthetic product design involves a concealed air intake opening on the base of the unit. The front of the unit is thus free of air slots. All the valves and pipes are accommodated within the casing, with the water connection optionally on the left or right. The electrics are also connected within the casing. The unit features an ultra-quiet tangential fan and an energy-saving EC motor. An ISO Coarse permanent air filter is located in the air intake opening.
In new or existing buildings and depending on the existing or refurbished pipework, building services designers and installers can simultaneously offer their customers the cooling function of the PowerKon LT. So yet another reason for changing from an oil or gas boiler to a heat pump. Kampmann heat pump-based heaters produce over 1,000 W of wet cooling output in automatic mode, or over 2,000 W with manual control, at system temperatures of 7/12 °C. The PowerKon LT is controlled by the manufacturer’s innovative touch display. If cooling is not required, a simpler version with a thermostat head is also available. The use of thermostat heads on site, which can also be controlled by an app, is also possible.
The development of fan-assisted heaters has finally dispelled the myth that heat pumps in houses only work with underfloor heating. These units, also known as low temperature heaters, represent a convenient and comfortable solution for the home. Particularly when it comes to refurbishing existing buildings, it is very straightforward to switch from an oil or gas heating system to a heat pump in conjunction with the PowerKon LT. These design heaters can replace old radiators and be connected up to the existing pipework, into which the heat pump feeds water. The construction costs of the power supply are usually limited. There is therefore no need for a complete renovation, chiselling of floors or pipe routing to the extent needed for the installation of an underfloor heating system. There is also the added convenience of the cooling function, which can be used as a dry or wet cooling system, depending on the pipework.
Kampmann is thus countering some isolated debatable trends on the market of operating heat pumps with conventional radiators and high system temperatures with its new PowerKon LT. The heat pump system can operate with a flow temperature of 35 °C with the PowerKon LT and operates 25 – 35% more efficiently than when operating at 55 °C. As a result, the heating costs are lower.
