HAILO at interzum 2023

As usual, the focus of this year’s presentation will be on products that make household chores easier, that create order and structure, and that give consumers more time to enjoy good things about the kitchen, cooking and living. A special and innovative highlight is Micro Garden, a small sprout garden for the drawer, with which the health-conscious persons can meet their need for fresh and healthy microgreens even in a small space. In addition to organization systems for the utility room, interzum 2023 will also focus on waste systems that facilitate the sustainable separation and disposal of discarded items. The HAILO Tandem waste separation system was relaunched last year in trendy black. In addition, the company with the red dot is presenting a U.S. version of the popular Cargo waste separation system.

"Making life more convenient – that’s what we’ve stood for now for more than 75 years," says Frank Peter Koch, marketing manager at HAILO Built-in Technology. "This year, our visitors can once again experience live how we do it and convince themselves of the high quality standards we set for ourselves and our products."

Microgreens from the drawer

One of the major trends that has spread in urban areas over the last few years is urban gardening. Previously unused areas of inner cities are being cultivated by leisure gardeners, allotment garden clubs are booming, and every inch of balconies and terraces is being used for flower beds and window boxes. The longing for more nature meets the desire to add home-grown food to the menu. With the new Micro Garden from HAILO, the first built-in system of its kind, this desire can be realized even in the smallest of spaces: In addition to the urban gardening movement, the complete set for the miniature garden in the drawer also picks up on another trend of the times: Microgreens.

Microgreens for healthy diet

Microgreens are the healthy and nutrient-rich seedlings of vegetable and herb plants. The special cultivation method makes it possible for the plants to be harvested and eaten fresh after just a few days. Thanks to their diverse flavors, they are the perfect addition to soups, sandwiches or salads. They are not only tasty, but also provide the body with important vitamins. This makes them the perfect way to combine health awareness, culinary delights and the joy of being green at home.

Fresh vitamins simply conjured from the drawer

The HAILO Micro Garden makes growing microgreens as clean and space-saving as possible. The mini garden is neatly tucked away in the drawer and can be operated with little effort thanks to app control and automated lighting and ventilation. A light module with a special plant LED in the lid ensures ideal lighting conditions, which are further optimized with the automatic day-night cycle. To add variety to the menu, two different plant programs can run simultaneously. Four removable bowls ensure that users are always supplied with the microgreens of their choice. Controlled smartly via an app, the automatic garden also works "offline" in the standard program. The built-in system fits in drawers with a width of 60 cm – and does not require any planting soil at all. The microgreens grow cleanly and hygienically thanks to seed pads that HAILO offers together with a start-up company – in many different flavors, individually or as a subscription system.

HAILO US Cargo: Waste separation for transatlantic kitchens

HAILO Euro Cargo is the reliable, self-supporting waste separation system for European kitchens. Now, optimal use of storage space is also possible on the other side of the Atlantic. With HAILO US Cargo, the company with the red dot brings the advantages and convenience features in line with American standards. Like its European counterpart, US Cargo is characterized by its large container volume, which is available for different requirements. Customers can choose between eight different versions: Four different widths according to American standards are available – either for frameless cabinets or faceframe cabinets.

The waste separation system offers a damped self-closing mechanism with "Smooth-Tec". The pull-out opens particularly smoothly and quietly. Like all other HAILO systems, US Cargo has been tested with more than 100,000 pull-out cycles and offers high stability and durability.

HAILO Tandem Black Edition: Classic in a new look

For the anniversary year 2022, HAILO brought out one of its classics in a new look. The Tandem waste separation system was launched as a Black Edition to mark the company’s 75th anniversary with the red dot – thereby continuing the trend towards dark kitchens inside the cabinets.

Waste separation with success

The fact that HAILO chose Tandem for the anniversary campaign is no coincidence: HAILO Tandem was the first waste separation system on the market and, with over 12 million sold, is also the most successful. Moreover, it stands for what HAILO has been about for 75 years: more convenience in the household, high quality, perfect use of space. For the Tandem Black Edition, HAILO has even launched a special promotion: With every system sold, a tree is financed as part of a reforestation program – and HAILO itself finances a second one.

Living gets smart: HAILO Libero 3.0 with voice control

Convenience and simplification: These terms are at the center of the major “smart home” trend in the furnishing industry and repeatedly also at the center of HAILO’s product development. With Libero 3.0, HAILO is taking up this theme and continuing its innovation offensive. The intelligent door opener listens to the word: connected to the Alexa voice control system, the device is now activated by voice message.

Focus on customer benefit

In the smart home, the achievements of digitalization increase living comfort. A topic with great potential – also for HAILO: "Customer benefit is the keyword here," Martin Mies says. "When it comes to the topic of ’smart home‘, not everything that is being developed today will catch on. But those applications that make life easier for the individual customer have a good chance of establishing themselves on the market."

Voice control for even greater convenience

One feature that has already been very successful in other areas is voice control. To set complex processes in motion, the user only needs to communicate with voice software. "This is actually a strong service in many areas," says Martin Mies. "Especially where all hands are needed for other activities, activating technology by voice is enormously practical."

The Libero 3.0’s smart technology is especially useful when you don’t have a hand free while preparing food in the kitchen. The simple opening of the trash cabinet drawer by foot control or voice command also prevents soiling of the handle panel or the front of the cabinet, as this is done without contact – ensuring a hygienic environment. 

HAILO in the utility room: Smart solutions for more order

A tidy house, a tidy mind. When everything is in its place, life becomes easier. Intelligently planned utility rooms with clever installation systems make keeping things tidy much easier. A utility room doesn’t need a lot of square meters, just good planning and clever equipment. And HAILO offers a wide range of products that have been thought out down to the last detail and always focus on ergonomics, handling and service.

Handling laundry effectively

The HAILO Laundry Carrier is a built-in laundry collector for 45 cm, 50 cm or 60 cm wide base cabinets with an ergonomic organization system that makes it easy to sort, store and transport dirty laundry. In addition, the Laundry Carrier provides space for storing various detergents. The two large-volume system baskets, each with a capacity of 33 liters, offer space for two washing machine loads – and are equipped with the tried-and-tested, fully synchronized pull-out rails of the HAILO Cargo Synchro. These ensure particularly convenient handling.

HAILO organizer systems for more convenience in everyday life

But it’s not just the Laundry Carrier that brings convenience to the utility room. HAILO offers several other useful storage modules, such as the heavy-duty universal shelf for practical keeping of beverage crates, vacuum cleaners or other large items. Separate laundry baskets in various colors and the HAILO Shoe Rack are also available to match. The latter offers space for four pairs of shoes per level and ensures that they are always within reach. Laundry baskets and shoe racks are available as a set in combination with the universal shelf.

In addition, HAILO offers numerous other modules that make the utility room clear and comfortable: The shelf serves to store buckets, cleaning agents and much more. Thanks to the integrated hook, it creates a hanging option for the associated sweeping set, cloths and other utensils. With the help of the broom and mop holder, the often bulky items can be hung up neatly and within easy reach. Large, upright household items such as ladders or ironing boards can be stored safely and in a space-saving manner on the multifunctional holder. The HAILO Recyclables Collector with a hook-in device for garbage bags or cloth bags and a large lid flap facilitates the collection of plastics and recycling waste. The convenient storage of small items such as laundry or cleaning utensils is possible thanks to the practical utensil containers with wall brackets, which can be hooked in or removed. And with the help of the foldable add-on laundry dryer, a flexible drying option is created for the freshly washed laundry.
