Connecting the Elements at O by Myconian Collection

With eleven properties spread across Mykonos, the local family-owned Myconian Collection Hotels & Resorts places a focus on unforgettable design, gastronomy, and wellness experiences. The latest addition to their portfolio, O by Myconian Collection, follows suit with bespoke furniture, a natural color scheme, and a fine-dining restaurant—but it also unites guests with the sea as the group’s first beachfront property. Here, visitors have the luxury of drifting between a serviced beach and private pools, of lounging on sunbeds during the day and dancing the night away with live DJ sets under the stars. It is a place where intimate moments are intentionally created.

Located in Ornos Bay, less than four kilometers south of Mykonos Town, O by Myconian Collection is a modern beachfront sanctuary where guests can unwind and reset their inner rhythms. Nestled between crystalline waters and lush vegetation, the soul of the property is rooted in the beauty of its surroundings and Greek island life. Throughout the hotel, architect George Stefanis of STFNLAB O.E. and Athens- and Mykonos-based interior designer Antonis Kalogridis establish an intimate dialogue between nature and design, which is underlined by Myconian Collection’s renowned approach to hospitality. Indoor-outdoor living takes center stage, while the design language draws from the timeless appeal of Hellenic antiquity and the comforts of Cycladic traditions.

Indoor spaces, including the signature restaurant, spa, and guestrooms, maintain deep connections to the outdoors through an abundance of natural and regionally sourced materials, such as wood, recycled stone, sand, and marble, all of which are frequently—and strikingly—used in their raw state. Through the addition of bespoke furniture crafted by Greek artisans and linen textiles with loose weaves, a harmonious balance is struck between simplicity and sophistication, between design and nature. Moreover, each building was constructed to align with the light, views, breeze, and horizon over the sea, while light fixtures were crafted by Greek designers from wood, bamboo, and wicker, allowing natural and artificial light to blend as one. The defining color palette features muted browns, whites, sand, greys, and black, augmented by pops of green landscaping and the infinite blues and greens of the sky and sea beyond.

Such colors and materials also permeate the 53 guestrooms and 12 suites, ranging in size from 33 to 135 square meters. In each of the individually created bright and airy accommodations, the pure whites of Aegean design vernacular are blended with darker hues expressed in honed stone floors, wood accents, and artisanal linens. Every room boasts a furnished terrace or balcony, with many also offering the option of a saltwater pool. The bathrooms also feature natural materials, including sculpted bamboo paneling, wood countertops, and stone basins, with bath amenities from Acqua di Parma and the Greek brand Korres.

With options to dine alfresco or indoors, O Restaurant provides a signature fine-dining experience. The seasonal menu features creative takes on Mediterranean classics infused with local flavors: produce and freshly caught seafood, delivered daily from Myconian farmers and fishermen, are paired with international wines and rare local vintages. Meanwhile, O’Bar serves casual fare set to Greek island time: light lunches, afternoon bites, and evening mezzes can be enjoyed under the shade of palm trees or delivered to deck chairs on the beach. Dishes from O’Bar are also served to the sunbeds in the adjacent Oasis, an open-air lounge area with an infinity pool connecting to the horizon beyond. Here, complimentary treats are also available throughout the day, and when the sun sets, Oasis transforms into an exclusive nightlife hotspot with live DJ sets.

In addition to the beach and Oasis, guests can rest and restore their minds and bodies at O’Spa. The calming cave-like environment includes a relaxation area and heated thalassotherapy pools carved into rocks, and a range of personalized treatments are performed with all-natural products by Elemis and Ligne St Barths. A gym equipped with the latest training and exercise systems is augmented by group and private yoga and Pilates classes as well as special events such as full moon yoga on the beach.

Elsewhere, the O Concept Store is stocked with a curated selection of resort wear, beachwear, and light, airy kaftans ideal for Greek summers. Guests at the O by Myconian Collection also have access to the group’s 10 other properties around the island, where they can indulge in various culinary experiences, guided private day trips, sprawling spas, and more.

Sustainablity

O by Myconian Collection was constructed with an abundance of regionally and locally sourced materials, including timber, marble, recycled stone, and sand from Mykonos. Such materials, as well as bamboo and wicker, also comprise the majority of the property’s bespoke furniture, all of which was crafted by Greek artisans. The signature restaurant relies on local produce and sustainably caught seafood, while water is desalinated onsite and greywater is recycled to water trees and plants.
