Country Golf, take me home…
The Golf Country was comparable to Quentin Tarantino’s early films: a box office flop, but an absolute cult object among fans. Back then, only 7,735 units of the Golf Country were sold, which accounts for approximately 0.12% of all Golf IIs. It’s understandable that Volkswagen hasn’t brought a reissue to the market – unfortunately. Because it’s not always just about commercial success, but also about creating a legend, just like the Golf Country.
As the foundation for this impressive reinterpretation, the Golf R with all-wheel drive serves as the base. With a possible lift kit, the ground clearance can be increased by up to 80 mm. This allows the delta Golf to achieve similar values as the Golf Country. Striking fender flares, impressive 18-inch Hanma wheels with Loder all-terrain off-road tire, rally style PIAA LED headlights mounted on the bonnet, and a practical roof rack complete the overall package for the Golf.
Currently, this vehicle is still a concept, but it is feasible and compliant with TÜV regulations. If enough interested parties are found, delta4x4 plans to bring a limited series of 25 vehicles to the market. The conversion is expected to cost approximately €35,000, and the development process until completion will take about 6-9 months.
