Konrad Technologies Announces Real-time Data Compression for Automotive Test

Konrad Technologies (KT) announces launch of its real time compression device for camera sensor data in the field of autonomous driving (AD) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) solutions.

Data Compression Core

Konrad Technologies announces the Data Compression Core, a lossless data compression device ideal for automotive manufacturers and suppliers to develop robust ADAS/AD systems more efficiently than ever before.

The Konrad Technologies Data Compression Core (KT-DCC) supports the testing of electronic control units (ECUs) effectively compressing the substantial volumes of data produced in real-time with low latency.

The Advantage: Compression in Realtime

"The pursuit of robust ADAS/AD systems by automotive manufacturers and suppliers necessitates the validation of detection, perception and control algorithms within ECUs. The significance of testing the ECU under diverse real-world scenarios, unconstrained by limitations, cannot be overstated. In this regard, the utilization of real-world data for testing purposes is indispensable. Nevertheless, the recording process generates extensive data, demanding substantial memory resources. Konrad Technologies has taken up the challenge of addressing this issue through the innovative Data Compression Core, delivering compression in real-time." – Michael Konrad, CEO of Konrad Technologies

The solution allows autonomous driving algorithms to be tested in diverse real-world situations, while ensuring efficient utilization of resources. Test engineers save storage space by utilizing the solution developed by Konrad Technologies.

The PXIe-based device minimizes data storage needs by compressing the generated data with lossless quality in real-time by 30-45%.

Automotive Testing Expo Europe

The Automotive Testing Expo (ATE) Europe is the world’s biggest international expo for every aspect of automotive testing, development and validation technologies. It is the leading event for the technologies and services in ADAS and autonomous vehicle testing, electric and hybrid powertrain testing, battery and range testing, EMI and NVH test and analysis and the full spectrum of test and validation technologies for full-vehicle, component and systems development.

Konrad Technologies will be present at the event with a large stand on the main ATE exhibition floor. Visit Konrad Technologies at booth 1112 in Hall 10, near partner NI.

The Konrad Technologies Data Compression Core will be presented on the booth. Our technical experts will be onsite for in-person discussion.
