Secure sample storage in forensic medicine

GenTegra® DNA is compatible with DNA from cell lines, blood, fresh and frozen and FFPE tissues, cDNA, plasmids, single and double stranded DNA. 100 % of input DNA (between 0,05 – 25 µg) are recovered with the product.

The DNA is stabilized and dried by GenTegra® DNA, can be stored at ambient temperature for up to 30 years and recovered by adding water when needed. Therefore, samples from forensic medicine can be stored safely and more economically (in comparison to a freezer) and, if needed, are available for further analysis at any time.

The quality of recovered DNA is comparable with the original sample and can be used in downstream applications without further purification. The stored samples withstand extreme temperatures from -80 °C to +72 °C during transport. The recovered liquid samples are stable for 8 hours, and samples can be dried and rehydrated up to 5 times.
