Future-oriented change: Betonbau becomes GRITEC
"The new company name was chosen to reflect our history, our ambitions and our drive for progress. As we have developed and grown over the years, the name "Betonbau" no longer adequately describes the company we are today. We are much more than just experts in the field of concrete and construction, the areas with which we have always been associated. For this reason, the right time has come to adopt our company name," explains Thomas Sachers, Managing Director of Betonbau BBD GmbH.
The name GRITEC, derived from "Grid" and "Technology", reinforces the clear positioning as a full-service provider of system-relevant infrastructure solutions, and enables all company divisions and products to be brought together under one roof. The resulting clear identity should be equally recognisable for the company, all current and future employees as well as national and international customers and partners.
The introduction of the name GRITEC goes hand in hand with a comprehensive further development of the corporate design. This measure ensures a consistent appearance across all communication channels that correspond to the new name.
The official launch as GRITEC GmbH will take place on 29 February 2024. "We are looking forward to this milestone with great anticipation and are convinced that the new name will create new opportunities, and will substantially contribute to achieving our goals," confirms Volker Ernst, Managing Director of Betonbau BBD GmbH.
As a leading specialist for technical buildings, Betonbau has been securing the supply for many areas of infrastructure – such as electricity, gas, water, renewable energies, digitisation, e-mobility, and industry – for 60 years, making it a driving force and enabler of the energy and mobility transition.
Betonbau was founded in 1963. Today, more than 1,300 employees at the five German sites in Waghäusel, Bockenem, Kösching, Schkeuditz, Halle (Saale) and at the Czech site in Prague work together on solutions for a sustainable future. The Betonbau Group has been pursuing a consistent growth strategy for years in order to meet the requirements of the energy, heating, mobility, and infrastructure transition. The company is run by the two Managing Directors Thomas Sachers and Volker Ernst.
Every year, around 10,000 individual modules are manufactured at state-of-the-art production facilities. The product spectrum ranges from small, non-accessible transformer stations to large, accessible buildings made up of several individual modules of various configuration levels. The Gritec stainless steel stations have been specially developed for international use. Standardised and customised doors and ventilation elements are manufactured at the company’s own metal production facility. The services include the planning through to the delivery of the tested, readyto- connect station as well as regular maintenance and inspection and the refurbishment of the technical buildings. With e⁴you, the implementation of an intelligent overall concept for charging infrastructure for electrically powered buses and other means of municipal transport, Betonbau is also prepared for the future trend of e-mobility.
