Laser projection for wall elements and glued beams
The test installation process
We want to demonstrate the process of such a test installation using the production of wall elements and glued beams in the timber industry. The introductory discussions are followed by a tour of the production facility. The experienced consultants from SL Laser obtain all the information required for installation and operation. This includes data on which contours and which positions are to be projected at which points in the production process. In the case of wall element production, this involves displaying the panel joints, which are provided with various contours for nailing. Without laser projection, the placement in the machine has to be carried out by experts with many years of experience. Otherwise it might happen that nailing is carried out directly on the joint. This means that the entire process has to be repeated, as the panels are not fastened correctly. Due to the large length of the system, various laser projectors are installed on the track, which work in combination and display the required contour via remote control. They are controlled by software specially programmed for this sector. This software also automatically feeds in the designations of the layers and panels and displays them on the monitor. After this installation nailing runs smoothly straight away.
An installation for glued beams
In the production of glued beams, the laser displays the contour so that the press uprights can be positioned correctly immediately without any effort. The previously laborious measuring process is no longer necessary. This greatly simplified work step can now be carried out by any employee, which considerably speeds up retrofitting and makes it possible at any time. In contrast to the wall elements, the ProDirector 7 projector works here on a rail construction under the ceiling. This can hardly be realized in a test installation, but it should be described here. The laser projector can move along the 100-metre-long row of stations on the rails and display the contour for this area at each stop. The four calibration points required for this are located on the floor. A test installation and the initial installation is of course calculated by the SL Laser experts.
Usually, a test runs so smoothly that the customer takes over the installation straight away. In this case, the customer planned to purchase another system for a different production area after just a short time. This meant that a more extensive installation of a rail construction could also be carried out.
Since 1988, SL Laser from Traunreut has been developing high-precision laser projectors and measurement systems that are used in many industries worldwide. At SL Laser, great importance has always been attached to user-friendly operation and self-explanatory functionality. This applies to the laser projectors as well as to the measuring systems and positioning lasers. Developed by practitioners for users on site, the systems enjoy great acceptance. The installation on trial and the well-founded introduction enable a quick and risk-free changeover to the new technology. A close-knit distribution network with sales partners all over the world allows excellent service. At SL Laser, customer success sets the standard for thinking!
