MWC 2024: trinamiX unveils the new generation of Face Authentication for smartphones and vehicles as well as Consumer Spectroscopy for mobile devices
- Presentation of product-ready trinamiX secure Face Authentication with unique liveness detection.
- Showcasing of secure and convenient Face Authentication solutions for automotive in collaboration with Continental and Antolin
- First public demonstration of trinamiX Consumer Spectroscopy integrated into a smartphone reference design, which enables new applications in the fields of beauty, fitness, and health.
Visitors to the Mobile World Congress can find out more about trinamiX’s sensing solutions for consumer electronics and automotive and experience them up close at booth E68 in hall 6 from February 26th to 29th. trinamiX GmbH is bringing its Face Authentication with liveness detection for smartphones and vehicles to Barcelona. The company will also showcase its Consumer Spectroscopy solution integrated into the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 smartphone reference design to the public for the first time.
Expectations for future smartphone generations are high. Due to the increasing number of sensitive applications such as mobile payment functions, users expect a highly secure method to protect their device and thus their data from unauthorized access. Yet, they are not willing to compromise on convenience or design. trinamiX Face Authentication with unique liveness detection of human skin reliably recognizes spoof attempts, even when using realistic three-dimensional masks. Visitors can experience the technology live at the trinamiX booth E68 in hall 6. The solution also offers a bezel-less, full-screen viewing experience, as the hardware can be invisibly integrated behind the OLED display.
trinamiX Face Authentication is in the starting blocks just in time for the MWC so that it can be integrated into new smartphone series within a very short time.
Secure authentication for vehicles – both on the exterior and in the interior
For the automotive sector, trinamiX offers a solution with a sensor system embedded in the B-pillar for biometric authentication with liveness detection, which unlocks the vehicle as soon as an authorized person is recognized. This allows previously registered users to access the car contactless and keyless while providing reliable protection against theft. B-pillar solutions have been realized in collaboration with Continental and Antolin independently. Both demonstrators will be showcased at the booth.
Through the collaboration with Continental and the development of the "Driver Identification Display", trinamiX is bringing its secure Face Authentication into the interior of the car. trinamiX’s unique biometric liveness detection based on human skin ensures that vehicles can only be started by authorized persons. In addition, the technology can ensure the secure and convenient use of in-car payment apps. Thanks to the invisible mounting of the hardware behind the OLED display, sophisticated interior designs with large, frameless displays can be realized.
Product demonstrators of the B-pillar solutions and the “Driver Identification Display” at the trinamiX booth #6E68 will give a convincing impression of how the applications will work in vehicles in the future. Realistic, three-dimensional masks will also be used in the live demonstrations at the booth, impressively showing how the unique security feature of trinamiX Face Authentication with liveness detection of human skin reliably protects cars against unauthorized access and data theft.
Revealing the secrets of our skin with a smartphone
trinamiX Consumer Spectroscopy is another innovation that can be experienced up close at the trinamiX booth. This solution comprises a sensor, integrated into a smartphone reference design, that can measure individual beauty, health, and fitness indicators in real time by placing the mobile device on the skin. In combination with an intuitive app and data analysis backed by machine learning, users receive personalized, actionable recommendations -ꟷ for example to improve their skin health. Qualcomm Technologies presented the solution integrated in its Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 Reference Design to selected journalists and influencers at the Snapdragon Summit 2023. Visitors to the MWC can now experience trinamiX Consumer Spectroscopy live on site.
With the integration into the smartphone reference design, trinamiX demonstrates the small form factor and compatibility of the solution with consumer electronics’ requirements which also makes it interesting for other fields of application such as stand-alone devices for the cosmetics industry.
