Successful Close to 2023 – Cautious Outlook for 2024

2023 was a successful year for machine builder Flottweg thanks to satisfactory financial results. With an increase in revenue of more than 5% to 298 million euros, the 2023 financial year was positive. Nevertheless, the separation technology specialist is looking to the future with caution due to the tense geopolitical situation in Europe and the economic challenges in many target markets.

“We would like to thank all employees who have worked together over the past year to achieve Flottweg’s success. The figures confirm the commitment and cohesion within the team,” explains Chairman of the Management Board Dr. Kersten Link. “External factors, such as the weakening global economy and rising interest rates, are delaying our customers’ investment decisions and could have an impact on business development this year. This situation requires a forward-looking approach. Flottweg is well prepared to react flexibly to changes and to take advantage of opportunities that may arise in this dynamic time.”

Klaus Huber Member of the Management Board since December

Klaus Huber has been part of the top management level at Flottweg SE since December 1, 2023. In his new role, Klaus Huber will assume responsibility for the Finance and Accounting, IT, and Business Process Management departments. He succeeds Peter Frankfurter, who left the Board of Management in October at his own request and in mutual agreement with the Supervisory Board. Klaus Huber has worked in various functions in the Finance department at Flottweg since 2000 and has been Head of the Finance and Accounting department since 2009.

Export Remains Highly Relevant

In 2023, nearly 86% of all revenue was once again generated abroad. This illustrates the successful internationalization of the separation technology specialist in the context of the ambitious Flottweg “Strategy 2025.” Flottweg is listed in the world market leader index (weltmarkt-fuehrerindex.de) and is one of Germany’s hidden champions. Flottweg currently employs 1,237 people worldwide, and in Vilsbiburg, there are almost 960 employees, including 60 trainees.

Flottweg Thailand as the New Subsidiary

In June 2023, Flottweg opened a new subsidiary in Thailand. After conducting business in Thailand for more than 30 years, Flottweg is now strengthening its presence in Asia by expanding to Thailand. The opening of the branch office in Thailand is another part of the global corporate strategy for 2025. With the new subsidiary in Thailand, the Flottweg Group now has a total of 12 subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, America, and Australia as well as over 50 sales offices worldwide.
