Experience the future of automation live at the GROB Open House 2024

When GROB opens its doors to visitors to the 2024 in-house exhibition on April 16th, they will have the unique opportunity to experience the efficiency and precision of all GROB automation solutions live. On over 6,000 square meters of exhibition space, visitors can expect to see a total of 30 machines of which ten are equipped with automation.

GROB’s robot cells make parts handling child’s play. The presentation of the G150 and G350 5-axis universal machining centers in combination with the GROB GRC-R12 and GRC-R240 robot cells will demonstrate this at first hand to visitors to the in-house exhibition. The robot cells from GROB are characterized by their flexible adaptability and versatile equipment and will demonstrate at the in-house exhibition how parts handling works at the highest level. The GRC-R240 is the largest robot cell in GROB’s product range, while the GRC-R12 is the smallest cell available. Despite their differences, both cells offer numerous advantages. Their compact design and mounting on a robust base plate make installation quick and easy. An innovative feeding system with drawers allows longer, uninterrupted production and also enables loading parallel to the main processing time. The automated changing device for clamping devices and grippers enables a wide variety of workpiece types and clamping fixtures to be processed, while parameterizable workpiece geometries ensure short set-up times. Depending on customer requirements, the cells can be equipped with a variety of modules, from deburring, cleaning, measuring and labeling of components to the integration of a second machine. Visitors to the in-house exhibition will have the opportunity to see for themselves the wide range of configuration options and the performance of GROB robot cells.

Pallet storage systems from GROB – versatile and flexible

In addition, a total of eight rotary, tower and linear storage systems will be on display at the in-house exhibition, demonstrating how pallet handling automates modern production. From large to small: GROB will be presenting almost the entire range of pallet storage systems in combination with its universal machining centers at the in-house exhibition. From the larger versions, such as a PSS-R900, PSS-R1800 and PSS-L2700, to a PSS-T300 and PSS-R300, which belong to the smaller sizes. GROB’s rotary pallet storage systems enable customers to handle workpieces efficiently. Their use enables unmanned operation of the machines, which results in shorter set-up times, increased productivity and minimal downtimes. GROB offers a wide range of sizes and storage divisions to meet the individual requirements of its customers. In addition to rotary storage systems, GROB’s portfolio also includes linear storage and tower storage systems.

Parts and workpiece handling in one – it’s the combination that makes the difference

GROB is one of the few suppliers to offer an all-round carefree package when it comes to automation: With the Bavarian machine manufacturer, customers can benefit from synergy effects between robot cells, pallet storage systems and machining centers. GROB’s automation concepts can be flexibly combined. This allows customers to draw on the full potential and fully equip their production. Parts and workpiece handling is therefore offered by GROB as an overall concept and enables customers from a wide range of industries to achieve efficient, precise and unmanned production.

GROB Mobile Robot – the automated guided vehicle

After the GMR (GROB Mobile Robot) celebrated its trade fair premiere at EMO 2023, visitors to the in-house exhibition can now also look forward to live demonstrations of the automated guided vehicle. The GMR from GROB makes pallet and tool handling child’s play, enabling efficient and intelligent material movement. In combination with the G550 including the PSS-R900, visitors can experience the interaction of the automation solutions up close and get their own impression of the GMR.

GROB4Automation – the control software from the Bavarian machine manufacturer

The GROB4Automation control software can be used for pallet storage systems and robot cells and thus completes GROB’s automation solutions. The software solution offers GROB customers an innovative user interface with drag & drop functions, which enables user-friendly order planning and control. Clear resource planning for tools and central NC program management can be created in no time at all. GROB4Automation also offers customer-specific ERP interfaces for seamless integration into existing systems. The control software can therefore be individually adapted to the respective customer requirements.

GROB’s universal machining centers – the right solution for every industry

In addition to the wide range of automation solutions, numerous 4- and 5-axis universal machining centers will once again be demonstrating their skills in exciting live machining operations at the in-house exhibition. The various machining operations will showcase applications from a wide range of industries, including medical technology, mechanical engineering, tool and mold making, aerospace and energy technology. There is a suitable machine for every industry at GROB’s in-house exhibition. "Of course, we want to present our latest technologies to our visitors at the in-house exhibition, but we also want to show that we have a wide range of applications and can therefore serve almost every industry. Our product portfolio is constantly growing and being further improved, and the in-house exhibition is a great opportunity to bring this closer to a wide audience," emphasizes Tobias Trautmann, Head of Universal Machines at GROB.

Experts from the Centers of Excellence will also be on hand to answer questions. The team has extensive specialist knowledge and will be available to answer any questions visitors may have. Whether complex technical details, practical applications or innovative developments – the experts are specialized in sharing their knowledge and giving visitors an understanding of GROB’s application possibilities. The direct exchange on site offers an invaluable opportunity to benefit from their expertise and gain valuable insights.
