The application possibilities for silver are growing
It is well known that silver is an important ingredient for photovoltaic modules. Silver is becoming increasingly popular in industry. But silver can also make a difference when it comes to air pollution. Many countries use silver iodide and can thus promote cloud formation in dry areas. But silver can also reduce air pollution. This is because the rain transports the air pollution particles downwards. According to the United Nations Environment Organization, air pollution is the biggest environmental threat to public health worldwide. It causes an estimated seven million premature deaths every year. Pakistan is one of the countries with extremely high levels of air pollution. Last year, tens of thousands fell ill and the smog has already led to school and business closures there. With the help of silver, namely cloud seeding, attempts are being made to get the problem under control. In this country, there are hail pilots who inoculate clouds with silver iodide to prevent severe storms.
In recent weeks and months, not only the price of gold but also the price of silver has risen sharply. Over the past three years, the price of silver has tended to move sideways. India and the silver-backed ETFs are among the diligent silver buyers. In February alone, silver imports in India rose by 260% (2,295 tons of silver) compared to January (637 tons of silver). Many Indians also bought silver from the United Arab Emirates, probably to benefit from the lower customs duty. According to speculation, some of the silver goes into the production of lithium-ion batteries. Silver is an industrial metal and a currency metal. If you want to bet on the precious metal, you can do so with the stocks of companies with silver in the ground.
