Streaming interaction to the world, in real-time: Complex challenge or simple task?
Various Use Cases, Different Priorities
iGaming and betting platforms use real-time video streaming, and with new use cases like microbetting gaining momentum, the need for speedy video delivery continues to grow. iGaming software provider LiveG24 also relies on added features for maintaining smooth real-time streaming like adaptive video quality which is based on the viewer’s network conditions. This is critical for high-quality gameplay for players globally, especially for regions with inconsistent internet connections. Additionally, content protection plays an essential role in their requirements.
Twebcast, a provider of a premium event solution for enterprise clients, requires streaming to all regions, including Asia, with priorities on easy integration via API, security, and GDPR compliance. Gisela Grerup, CEO of Twebcast, states:
“We collaborate with numerous prominent clients who demand reliable, flexible, and branded solutions. These requirements range from town hall meetings and digital expos to company-wide anniversaries or even events as prestigious as Nobel Week Dialogue.”
To stream an interactive forum to around 10,000 physical and 15,000 virtual attendees for government and public affair purposes, streaming needed to be secure and include easy stream switching. For this event, Damien Denoeud (IT engineer and consultant at Logiquali) and nanocosmos’ successful collaboration made a secure delivery of interactive streaming available for an international audience.
Swiss provider Wegner live streams live auction houses. CEO Roland Wegner says that today, the primary goal is to offer auctions via live streaming to everyone as if they were physically present. In addition to minimum latency transmission, this includes signal optimization, optimized sound for hall acoustics, and parallel integration of graphic material. The stream is also adaptive and can run around the clock. “Perfect sound and perfect picture despite ultra-low latency” stood out when a live auction stream was done with nanocosmos for the prestigious auction house Galerie Kornfeld.”
Complex Tech Requirements vs. Streaming Innovation
The technical requirements of the various use cases reveal that streaming interactive content relies on a complex workflow. As interactive content grows in audience size, maintaining scalability with low latency becomes especially challenging, necessitating a cloud-based solution designed for this purpose. While a comprehensive approach to cover all aspects of streaming technology brings the benefit of quality control, it also requires constant technical updates. Nanocosmos‘ founder and CEO Oliver Lietz states:
“With more than 25 years of experience in the audio/video industry and our dedication to continuous innovation, we trust that our services will continue to be instrumental in providing successful streaming—especially as requirements for interactive live streaming continue to evolve.”
Nanocosmos released this year’s version of real-time video streaming: nanoStream Cloud 2024 in July. It will be showcased at booth 5.D39 at IBC 2024. With it, the company introduces the new claim "Real-time Video That Simply Works," inspired by clients’ feedback. Oliver Lietz says: "There is no need to contradict a complex workflow with state-of-the-art tech. Our updates focus on improvements on the whole solution for ultra-low latency and high QoE, including new features like live replay, improved live caption with better accuracy, user roles, and enhanced monitoring for 100% availability."
With short videos, published throughout July and August 2024, nanocosmos wants to show that real-time streaming can be easy not only for streaming experts:
