Electric vehicles and renewable energies devour silver
The electric vehicle market and renewable energy technologies are growing. Every electric vehicle consumes silver. Over the next few years, there could be a silver deficit, which on the one hand already seems to be emerging, but on the other hand has not yet been reflected in the silver price. This presents opportunities for investors. Silver could be used more and more in solid-state silver batteries. Many components in the electromobility sector benefit when silver is used. This is because silver impresses with its unique properties, especially in high-performance EV batteries.
In battery technology, the precious metal impresses with its conductivity, corrosion resistance and thermal management capabilities. Not only electric vehicles can benefit from this, but also buses, trucks, ships and airplanes. Not only the silver market, but also the nickel market is expected to see price increases due to EV demand. The difference between these two markets is that the silver market is around 100 times smaller than the nickel market. Silver prices could therefore benefit particularly from this development. In addition, silver is an important component for solar modules, electronic products and other growing industries.
New technologies such as solid-state batteries are among the technologies that could lead to increased silver consumption. The market for silver batteries is growing. An adjustment in the price of silver would therefore come as no surprise. The market should recognize and price in these factors. Silver and nickel are raw materials that the future needs. Good for silver companies such as Discovery Silver or companies with nickel such as Canada Nickel Company.
Discovery Silver – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/discovery-silver-corp/ – owns silver-zinc-lead projects in northern Mexico, including the highly prospective Codero project, a world-leading silver project.
The Canada Nickel Company – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/canada-nickel-company-inc/ – is responsible for cobalt and nickel. The Crawford project is located in Ontario and is wholly owned by the company.
