LogiMAT 2025: BITO-Lagertechnik will be presenting the latest trends, news and highlights
BITO Bins and containers
Designed as environmentally friendly and cost-efficient reusable load carriers and transport packaging, BITO multi-trip distribution containers are the future of sustainable and efficient logistics processes. BITO packaging solutions not only reduce a company’s carbon footprint and help to comply with the upcoming EU packaging regulations. The durable multi-use and multi-trip systems can be re-used hundreds of times and can be optimally adapted to the size and the type of loads, saving a lot of costs over the years for disposable packaging and associated time-consuming procurement processes as well as time for repackaging and storage costs.
The BITO RK storage and handling bin series saves space and keeps small parts stores organised. The entire RK series is now produced as a standard from high-quality postconsumer recyclable plastics (PCR) manufactured by BITO in their own in-house facility in accordance with strict test criteria. The „BITO circular compound BIC2“ recyclate is obtained using the latest sorting, separation and cleaning processes which ensure that the quality and stability of the containers are in no way inferior to those made from virgin plastic. For the first time, it is also possible to produce container colors in a precisely defined shade – here, dove blue – despite the use of recycled material.
Also made of 100% high-quality „BITO circular compound BIC2“, the BITO ECOMOTION range is an addition to the successful BITO XL-Motion series of low-friction containers for quiet operation in automated storage systems. ECOMOTION-containers are also notable for their new “easy2divide” divider system with slim and quick-change dividers. This means that goods can be stored efficiently in the containers and transported in automated warehouse systems without any loss of space.
For over 30 years, the BITO MB multi-purpose container series has been ensuring high levels of efficiency in warehouses. Nesting empty containers reduces space requirements for storage or transportation by 75%. Thanks to a new ergonomic facelift with additional handles on both long sides, using the popular multi-trip container classic is now even easier.
The BITO EQ folding box is not only extremely space-saving during transportation and storage when empty. This multi-trip box has been specifically designed for use in industry and the commercial sector; it is particularly sturdy, resilient and therefore also suitable for use in automated systems.
BITO has developed the online tracking service IOB – Internet of Bins & Containers – as a helpful solution to prevent container loss or theft and to ensure efficient use of container space. The range of products enables seamless monitoring and management of containers along the entire supply chain. By integrating IoT technology and intelligent sensors, data such as the location, temperature and movement status of bins and containers can be recorded and analysed in real time. This helps to optimise costs and processes, thus ensuring sustainable use of the containers.
BITO Shelving and racking
BITO-Lagertechnik has many solutions in its portfolio, both in the field of order picking and pallet storage, to allow intralogistics processes within a company to be optimised with as little effort as possible, even during ongoing operations. An efficient warehouse design saves a lot of money – whether in a new building or when redesigning an existing warehouse.
Picking space in existing storage facilities can be gained with the BITO pallet rack retrofitting solution. Standard pallet racking can be upgraded, for example, with additional lightweight static levels or with flow storage levels. Also, additional carton live racks or static boltless shelving can be added on the floor level to create with little effort additional picking space in existing storage installations. The upper levels of the pallet racking can still be used as a buffer zone. This not only allows storage space to be compacted and optimally utilised, but also speeds up the picking process to save time. Another option is to add pallet flow racks with double-deep supply lanes to further enlarge the picking zone for picking entire pallets or for off-pallet picking of individual items. Whether installed from the outset or for retrofitting an existing storage facility, the BITO retrofitting solution for static pallet racking is a dynamic system that can be individually adapted to new requirements. If requirements change over time, the system can be easily reconfigured into an entirely static racking system.
Very efficient use of storage space in the field of pallet storage can be made by using mobile pallet racking from BITO. This system has the advantage of “removing” aisles between the pallet racking runs. The aisle between two racking runs can be opened as required, allowing the available space capacity to be occupied even more efficiently. Compared to a conventional pallet racking system, this solution provides an increase in storage capacity of up to 180 percent and saves up to 50 percent of floor surface.
The BITO pallet live storage system provides flexible use of storage capacity and time savings in tour preparation for sectors with high turnover rates or when attention must be paid to freshness or seasonal fluctuations. The system enables efficient and compact pallet storage according to the LiFo or the FiFo principle. In a pallet live storage system, no aisles are required within a racking block, which means that 60% of the storage space can be saved compared to a conventional pallet racking system. Travel times are reduced by 40%.
Maximum storage density and high turnover rates are achieved with pallet shuttle storage from BITO. The remote-controlled, battery-operated shuttle moves into the aisles of a drive-in rack instead of a forklift truck and moves palletised goods from the rear of a lane to the forklift truck or from the forklift truck into the lane. As no auxiliary gradient is required, storage density in the existing storage space is increased and the travel distances for storing and retrieving goods are minimised.
