With a uniquely informative accompanying program, LogiMAT 2025 reaffirms the brand’s reputation as a platform for presenting and communicating the latest trends and solutions for efficient intralogistics. Alongside the products and services presented by the over 1,500 international exhibitors, the accompanying program offers industry professionals a mix of new, trending, and tried-and-tested content: Recognized experts from the business and academic communities and industry press will explore today’s top issues driving forward-looking investments in intralogistics in a program of 15 Expert Forums. In two centrally located forum spaces in Halls 4 and 7, LogiMAT exhibitors will present some 70 Exhibitor Insights, offering behind-the-scenes glimpses into the development, attributes, and benefits of their latest product innovations. Live events focusing on AIDC technologies and cargo securement plus a Mobile Robotics User Forum offer practical tips and assistance in purchasing decisions. Events held in the outdoor spaces offer hands-on logistics experiences. And last but not least, the LogiMAT Campus career and networking event facilitates recruiting by bringing exhibitors and young professionals together on the final day of LogiMAT 2025.

The Expert Forums offer a unique, conference-level program of presentations included in the price of admission on all three days of the event in the LogiMAT Arena, centrally located in the East Entrance Atrium. Dr. Alice Kirchheim (Institute Director at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML and Professor at TU Dortmund) explores the questions of how much automation makes sense in logistics and to what degree robotics are trending toward humanoid forms – March 11 at 11:00 AM. Three other Expert Forums will also address the topic of automation. Sandra Lehmann (Editor of LOGISTIK HEUTE at HUSS-VERLAG) leads a panel discussion on Tuesday looking at automation solutions and digital tools that can help alleviate current packaging and logistics challenges around sustainability, transparency, and the shortage of skilled workers – March 11 at 1:00 PM. Dipl.-Ing. Jean Haeffs, Managing Director, Association of German Engineers (VDI) Society for Production and Logistics (GPL) heads a roundtable focusing on the concept of dark warehouses and the current technologies relating to these automated storage facilities– March 12 at 11:00 AM. Dr. Roman Ungern-Sternberg (Head of Operations at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA) examines where it makes sense to automate using a value stream–based approach in an existing factory – March 13, 2:00 PM.

AI takes center stage in Expert Forums

AI is front and center in nearly a quarter of this year’s Expert Forums. On Tuesday, Dr. Johannes Fottner (Full Professor and Chair of Materials Handling, Material Flow, Logistics fml at the Technical University of Munich TUM) heads a panel exploring the benefits and limitations of AI in intralogistics and the challenges associated with its implementation – March 11 at 2:00 PM. In the next hour, Arndt Bake (General Manager GTM EMEA at Basler) highlights the importance of AI-based machine vision for streamlining, optimizing, and transforming logistics processes – March 11 at 3:00 PM. On Wednesday, Dr. Robert Schulz (Director of the Institute of Mechanical Handling and Logistics IFT at the University of Stuttgart) heads a roundtable examining the opportunities and risks of AI in process optimization and automation – March 12 at 10:00 AM. On Thursday, Dr. Jörg Pirron (Chair of the Intralogistics Network in Baden-Württemberg and Managing Director of PROTEMA Management Consulting) brings the series of Expert Forums to a conclusion with a look at the role AI is poised to play in the technological innovations and intralogistics of the future – March 13 at 3:00 PM.

In addition to these key themes, four other Expert Forums on Wednesday offer background information and solutions to current challenges. Dr. Veronika Kretschmer (Senior Scientist and Scientific Board Member at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML) presents the latest research findings and practical insights for making logistics work safe, healthy, and ergonomic – March 12 at 1:00 PM. Mobile Robotics User Forum examines safety and cybersecurity with AMRs

The gallery level in Hall 6 (Booth 6H01) also hosts this year’s Mobile Robotics User Forum. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about current trends in AMRs and AGVs plus best practices and solutions for their own operations. The program will focus on the five categories of technology, planning, proof of concept, safety, and cybersecurity. Anyone interested in these topics is advised to register in advance of LogiMAT.

Another highlight of the accompanying program will be LogiMAT Campus in its new format in the ICS Foyer on March 13. This career and networking event offers anyone seeking to launch a career in logistics direct contact to potential employers in the logistics industry. The Campus sessions on stage provide helpful tips on starting and changing careers as well as testimonials on career opportunities. Participating exhibitors will also promote their job openings and training opportunities.

Two additional daily live events on the subjects of AIDC technologies (Tracking & Tracing Theatre, T&TT, Hall 2, Booth 2B07) and cargo securement (Hall 9, Booth 9B71) round out the accompanying program. Experts will be on hand to explain how you can optimize and digitize your supply chain processes and to offer practical advice for meeting common challenges. The outdoor area will once again feature an AI Cinema. The outdoor area between Halls 7 and 9 will also feature demonstrations of trucks, forklifts, and warehouse technology where visitors themselves can even test out new vehicles and equipment.

“Thanks to this full spectrum of both proven and cutting-edge solutions, we’ve managed once more to put together a fascinating accompanying program with helpful tips for attendees to make their intralogistics sustainable,” concludes LogiMAT Exhibition Directory Michael Ruchty. “The high level of added value for industry professionals has been and remains a defining characteristic of LogiMAT.”
