Masterflex Group presents the world’s first cradle-to-cradle compliant spiral hose
Masterflex Group drives forward the recycling economy for plastic hoses
The abrasion of the innovative hose is metabolised by microorganisms and thus provides nutrients for the environment – a valuable contribution to sustainability. Further development steps include the selection of environmentally friendly adhesives, additives and wire solutions.
"We show our customers and other interested parties how recycling and technical excellence go hand in hand," says Managing Director Christian Horstkötter.
Innovative hoses for industrial applications
The current prototypes are now being made ready for series production and will gradually expand and transform the product range. The Masterflex Group plans to gradually transform its business model into a system based on a circular economy by 2035. The consulting and product business will be gradually realigned and expanded to include services such as systematic support for take-back, recycling and eco-certification.
"With our Hero@Zero strategy, we want to make a positive contribution to our customers that is both economically and environmentally sustainable. Our vision is a circular economy for plastic hoses and connecting systems with minimised resource consumption.Companies now have the opportunity to get involved early in the development of circular hose solutions. Instead of waiting for circular products to become the norm, pilot customers can help shape individual solutions and benefit from innovative added value," emphasises Dr. Andreas Bastin, CEO of the Masterflex Group.
Customers and interested parties are invited to become part of this pioneering solution at an early stage. The company will be happy to provide further information and advice.
Note: An interesting short video on the Cradle-2-Cradle hose has recently been published.
