Honest stackers: Improving logistics processes with KASTO tower storage systems

Hall 3, Stand 3F44 – Architectural Grille, a manufacturer of custom-made gratings, wanted to optimize its sheet metal warehouse. The goal: to make the material flow efficient and safe. This was made possible with the KASTO tower storage systems UNITOWER and KASTOecostore.

The customer – Architectural Grille, a long-standing manufacturer of customized gratings crafted from aluminum, brass, bronze, steel, and stainless steel, boasts nearly 80 years of expertise. This family-owned enterprise in the United States specializes in delivering top-tier ventilation grilles of all dimensions to clients in the construction, interior design, and industrial realms. However, their offerings extend beyond these sectors, catering also to private residences and art enthusiasts seeking bespoke indoor and outdoor solutions.

The challenge – Previously grappling with an inefficient storage setup that consumed considerable space and hindered ergonomic and economic efficiency, Architectural Grille sought a transformative solution. Anthony Giumenta senior, along with his sons Anthony and Stephen, encountered KASTO’s tower storage systems at a trade show, sparking their interest in an automated remedy.

The solution – After a meticulous assessment of their diverse requirements, KASTO proposed the implementation of a total of five tower storage systems. This comprised four KASTOecostore 3.0 units tailored for sheets of varying sizes and materials, alongside one double-sided UNITOWER 2.0 dedicated to accommodating long goods spanning from 6 ft. to 21ft.  in length. Each of the four compact KASTOecostore towers stands at a height of eight meters, aptly suited for dimensions up to 5ft. x 10 ft. or 5ft. x 13ft. Notably adaptable to a wide array of materials, these towers perfectly align with Architectural Grille’s multifaceted inventory. Similarly, the UNITOWER system offers a space-efficient and ergonomic solution for storing long goods, ensuring organized retrieval and swift processing of orders.

The conclusion – Stephen Giumenta, Managing Director, remarks "With KASTO’s storage solutions, our logistics processes have significantly improved, enhancing both efficiency and safety at our workstations.”
