TÜV SÜD presents the latest EMC testing services at the EMC trade fair
“Our many years of experience and our comprehensive test portfolio enable us to provide our customers with optimal support in the development and certification of their products,” says Hannes Adelsberger, EMC laboratory manager at TÜV SÜD. “We look forward to sharing our cross-business expertise at EMC 2025 and to shaping the future of electromagnetic compatibility together.” Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the latest requirements and developments in the field of EMC at the TÜV SÜD stand.
Comprehensive EMC testing services for safe and compliant products
Electromagnetic compatibility is a key factor for market approval and the smooth operation of electronic devices. TÜV SÜD supports companies with a wide range of testing and certification services that ensure that products for global market access comply with international standards and country-specific regulations. TÜV SÜD’s experts provide comprehensive testing of electrical and electronic equipment to ensure compliance with the EMC Directive (2014/30/EU) and other industry-specific requirements. The portfolio also includes:
- Tests according to the RED Directive (2014/53/EU): Assessment of EMC, electrical safety, radio conformity and cybersecurity for the latest technologies such as 5G or Wifi6. In addition to the European RED directive, TÜV SÜD also ensures compliance with all other international standards. These include: FCC certification for the USA, ISED certification for Canada, MIC certification for Japan and many more international approvals.
- EMC testing for medical devices: Ensuring regulatory compliance with IEC 60601-1-2 as well as more specific requirements such as those of the FDA with tests according to IEC 61000-4-39 and our own test procedures to demonstrate immunity to 5G, for example.
- Tests for the automotive industry: EMC testing and type approvals for vehicles and their electronic components, for example in accordance with ECE R10, CISPR 25, ISO 11452 and OEM standards.
- EMC testing for industrial and railway engineering: Ensuring compliance with special standards for electrical and electronic components in industrial and railway engineering applications.
- On-site measurements and fault analyses: If laboratory testing is not practical or desired, the laboratory will come to the customer. TÜV SÜD offers a technically and regulatory optimal solution to also carry out tests at the installation site.
TÜV SÜD also offers testing of electromagnetic fields (EMF) for personal protection, measurements of circuit feedback to minimise faults in the power grid, and radio testing for compliance with global radio standards. As a Notified Body for the EMC and RED Directives, TÜV SÜD supports companies in obtaining the necessary certifications for market access.
Hannes Adelsberger comments: „TÜV SÜD uses state-of-the-art EMC testing technology and can provide its customers with optimal support in all phases of product development, from market access.“
