A nuclear power plant on the moon
It is well known how important nuclear energy is in the energy mix. Even on the moon, a nuclear power plant could now be built.
It is the well-known luxury car brand Rolls-Royce that is planning a small nuclear power plant on the moon on behalf of the British space agency. Because this would be a fine thing for a permanent base on the moon. The base could then be supplied with electricity independently of sunlight. The so-called Small Modulator Reactors (SMR), small mini power plants, are being traded as an important instrument for the future supply of nuclear energy. Up to 20 percent of future electricity demand could be met by nuclear by 2050. Technical innovations and construction costs will have a significant impact on this.
In recent years, growth in renewable energies has exceeded forecasts. The same could occur in the nuclear energy sector. In addition to the USA and France, countries focusing on this type of energy production include the United Kingdom, which is supporting nuclear projects with $145 million. South Korea is also looking to increase its capacity. Investors are now eyeing uranium companies such as IsoEnergy and Labrador Uranium.
