Parker to highlight EV OnwardTM electrification portfolio at Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo Europe 2023

The Engineered Materials Group (EMG) of Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, will be showcasing its EV Onward TM  portfolio of next-generation electrification technologies designed to solve complex challenges in thermal management, lightweighting, fast charging, reliability, and safety at EV Tech Expo Europe at Messe Stuttgart (Hall 10, Booth C30), from 23 rd  to 25 th  May 2023.
EV Onward TM  is a dedicated portfolio of integrated Parker technologies focused on helping OEMs and tiers electrify their products. It includes solutions enabling design advancements for vehicle bodies, monitoring systems, batteries, powertrains, and charging infrastructure. Examples of product groups or families included in the portfolio are:

Thermal Management Materials
Parker thermal interface materials transfer heat from electronic components to heat sinks and are used to eliminate air gaps from the interface. Parker Lord CoolTherm® materials and Parker Chomerics THERM-A-GAP® materials deliver lower thermal impedance, higher thermal conductivity and greater compliance, and conformability while increasing component performance, reliability, and safety.

Structural Adhesives and Coatings
In battery applications requiring assembly, structural integrity or improved thermal connection, Parker’s adhesives allow for design flexibility and the ability to bond a variety of substrates. Parker’s dielectric coatings provide electrical insulation for battery cells and packs.

Sealing Solutions
Parker’s sealing solutions reliably seal the various components of EV systems and provide good chemical and temperature resistance, durability and high-pressure resistance combined with easy installation. Solutions with extended functions such as compensation of larger tolerances, integration of sensors or ventilation of housings/fast pressure relief in case of battery thermal runaway are also available.

EMI Shielding
Parker’s electromagnetic interference (EMI) and grounding products can be used on battery packs, power converters, and sensors – offering superior performance, lower cost to manufacture, and increased reliability.

 CoolTherm® thermal management materials:  These products include liquid-dispense, cure-in-place gap fillers, encapsulant and potting solutions, structural adhesives and thermally conductive foams.

 THERM-A-GAP TM  GEL 40NS:  High-performance, one-component, urethane-based thermal interface gel with 4.0 W7m-K thermal conductivity requiring no mixing or cure. As a non-silicone gel, it is ideal for applications where silicone contamination might be an issue such as automotive infotainment and camera modules or in areas where silicone use is restricted.

 Dielectric coating JMC-700k:  JMC and Sipiol® dielectric coatings provide electrical insulation for battery cells and packs. Sipiol UV cures in seconds with ultra-violet light and can eliminate PET tapes allowing more cells to placed in the same space.

 CliPHvent pressure relief valve for battery housings:  Featuring a compact design and easy installation without tools, CliPHvent pressure relief valves enable fast compensation of pressure differences between the interior of a housing and the external environment and protect electronics against ingress of liquids and dirt.

 Warp seals:  Static seals compensating for axial, radial, and/or angular misalignment within a wide tolerance range. They are easy to install and used for sealing port connections and feedthroughs of all kinds of housings.

 Press-in-place (PIP) seals:  These provide reliable sealing of electronic component housing such as inverters, converters, and control boxes, small- and medium-size housings or covers of batteries, fuel cells, and e-axles.
