Silver – the best of both worlds
Even if the current silver price – it has just reached a new six-month low – is not so pleasing to investors at the moment, the silver market is still an important investment area. Due to the areas of use, many analysts also see a price of up to 30 U.S. dollars per troy ounce again for the next few months. Some also see the price rising even higher in the foreseeable future. The precious metal is used in the production of solar cells, an area that is growing. The trend toward electromobility should be another catalyst for silver prices. This is because almost every electronic connection in an electric vehicle contains silver. This is a trend where the trend is strongly increasing. According to estimates, silver demand from the automotive industry is expected to rise to around 100 million ounces annually by 2025, an increase of 60 to 70 percent. In addition to the solar industry and the automotive industry, silver is needed in countless applications.
A look at the largest silver producers is also interesting. In total, about 26,000 tons of silver were produced in 2022. The largest silver producing country by far is Mexico. The most silver worldwide comes from Mexico’s silver producer Fresnillo. In second place and also the most important silver producer in the European Union is Poland’s KGHM. Newmont takes third place, with all of its silver production coming from Mexico. In Mexico there are a number of other recommendable silver companies, for example Discovery Silver or MAG Silver.
MAG Silver – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/mag-silver-corp/ – is well on its way to becoming a primary silver company with its interest in the Juanicipio project (already producing commercially) in Mexico.
Discovery Silver – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/discovery-silver-corp/ – also owns the Codero Silver Project in Mexico, making it one of the largest undeveloped silver reserves on earth.
