Presented at Productronica 2023: Fully automatic application of one-piece fastening ties with FTS pro

The FTS pro streamlines the process of applying one-piece fixing ties to cable sets. It organises the ties, inserts them into the tool, and loops them with precise tension on the harness before trimming off excess strap.

This innovative tool is based on proven HellermannTyton technology. The FTS pro wraps the tie around the cable set, tightens it with a defined force then cuts it flush. It offers tension-free cutting, different force levels, looping, and detailed documentation of parameters and tool information, to name just a few functions.

Hagen Spiess, Head of Product Engineering at HellermannTyton Germany, explains, "Wire harness configurations vary greatly, which is why we have designed the FTS pro so that it can be flexibly adapted to individual requirements. We have already successfully carried out initial tests with automotive customers and are looking forward to presenting the FTS pro at Productronica."

The FTS pro automates the processing of HellermannTyton one-piece fastening ties (for bundles up to Ø 35 mm) for use in holes, on bolts or edges. The loose fastening ties can be fed into the tool in different ways. In future, feeding will be offered via a vibrating container with pneumatic hose feed, via direct feeding with a gripper/robot or via a chain magazine.
