Rapidly growing demand for uranium in many countries
The importance of uranium is growing in the world, that is clear. Even though Germany has withdrawn from nuclear power, many countries are planning and building new nuclear power plants. China is planning to build 45 new nuclear reactors, which are due to go into operation within the next 15 years. Russia and India are also eagerly planning new nuclear power plants and many countries are newcomers to nuclear energy. Reliable and clean alternative energy sources are needed. For many years, the price of uranium was not as high as it is today; a pound of uranium currently costs almost 81 US dollars. A year ago, the price was still around 47 US dollars per pound. Uranium has been traded in the same way for decades through transactions with middlemen and other costs between buyers and sellers. An open spot market and an active futures market did not exist. An innovation on the uranium market is the introduction of the first digital token with uranium.
However, this will not harm the popularity of uranium shares. This is because investors can familiarize themselves with the company, the projects, the management and the development of the company. According to the World Nuclear Association, the uranium market will experience tremendous growth over the next ten years. Demand for uranium is expected to increase by an estimated 27 percent between 2021 and 2030. Growth of 38 percent is forecast for 2031 to 2040. It is worth taking a look at uranium companies that are already well positioned, such as American Future Fuel or Consolidated Uranium.
American Future Fuel – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/american-future-fuel-corp/ – has just announced very good drilling results from its 100%-owned Ceboletta uranium project in Mexico.
Consolidated Uranium – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/consolidated-uranium-inc/ – owns uranium projects in Australia, Canada, Argentina and the USA. A merger with IsoEnergy – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/isoenergy-ltd/ – is pending.
