Gold coins from Bulgaria

The gold coins are 1,500 years old, date back to the Byzantine Empire and have now been discovered by archaeologists. The find was in a house that contained even older gold coins dating back to the time of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian the Great. After all, gold is imperishable. Unusually, the 1,500-year-old coins were discovered in a 10th century house in Debnevo, Bulgaria. So, the inhabitants of the house must have kept these coins, perhaps as an inheritance.
