HARTING Technology Group nabs golden German Brand Award

The HARTING Technology Group has been awarded the golden German Brand Award, with the company garnering the prize for its innovative European Distribution Center (EDC) logistics centre. This marks the fifth time the award has been conferred. The competition showcases the most innovative brand identities and creative campaigns.

Espelkamp-based HARTING picked up the prize in the category “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation – Brand Communication – Architecture & Buildings”. Internationally active architecture firm “3deluxe”, based in Wiesbaden, designed the HARTING Technology Group’s high-tech logistics centre with attached administrative building. The centre features an automated small-parts high-bay warehouse and high-speed shuttle, with the European Distribution Center (EDC) — built in East-Westphalian Espelkamp and boasting an area of over 18,000 square metres – constituting one of Europe’s most innovative logistics centres. The centre combines cutting-edge logistics technology with ergonomic workstations in an ideal manner.

“The EDC impresses with its hypermodern, pleasantly open and light-suffused architecture that offers communicative proximity as well as interesting visual axes over multiple levels. It features a holistically developed architectural design that not only reflects environmental but also social values. The EDC thereby highlights the corporate philosophy in clear fashion while simultaneously demonstrating the company’s technological logistics expertise in an impressive manner,” the jury stated in its decision.

“The EDC’s innovative intralogistics solutions make it a flagship project of the company’s technological logistics expertise. Our products are encountered everywhere in the building, in its technology, its systems, its interior,” as Board Chairman Philip Harting stated. “The award is also a motivational award for the 3Deluxe team of architects,” beamed 3Deluxe managing director Peter Seipp regarding the recognition.

The Brand Award is instigated by the German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung), which was founded in 1953 at the initiative of the German Federal Parliament.

About German Design Council: The Initiator

Founded by the German Parliament, endowed by German industry: The German Design Council is one of the world’s leading centres of expertise for brands and design. Founded in the 1950s at the initiative of Ludwig Erhard and endowed by the Federation of German Industries [Bundesverband der Industrie] in 1953, it provides companies with the support necessary to handle all aspects of their brand and design development today. As a unique, cross-sector forum for transferring knowledge and facilitating communication, the German Design Council ensures clear competitive advantages for its members – and for German brands: Together with GMK Markenberatung, it has initiated not only the German Brand Monitor, Germany’s largest decision-maker study on trends and challenges in brand management, but also the German Brand Institute.
