Cat.7 Hybrid cable for rail vehicles
Dede Bülbül, Chief Technology Officer with Hradil Spezialkabel GmbH, Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany
Special compounds were used for the Cat.7 high-endurance cable by Hradil with 4x(2xAWG24/19) and 16×1.5 mm². For added tensile strength, the jacket as well as the core of the cable feature aramid fibre braiding. The outer cable jacket is resistant against oil and gasoline as well as against ozone, UV, cooling fluids, lubricants and cold cleaning agents. The railway cable by Hradil excels in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C.
The Cat.7 hybrid cable by Hradil meets all standards and requirements of the railway industry, such as DIN EN 45545-2 (R16-T13 HL1-HL3): fire protection in railway vehicles, IEC 60332-3-24: flame-retardant, IEC 60754-2: halogen-free, DIN 60811-2-1 Section 10: oil-resistant (168 hours at 100° C), DIN VDE 0472-6004 (flex life test), IEC 61034-2; DIN EN 50305:2003 (smoke density & toxicity); IEC 61034-2; DIN EN 50267-2-1:1999 (corrosive effects of combustion gases).
The Cat. 7 hybrid cable by Hradil meets additional standards and provisions in keeping with the requirements of EN 50288-4-2, EN 50173/Class F, ISO/IEC 11801 3rd edition 11/2017, and IEC 61156-6.
