OPEL STORIES is New Category on Media Websites
History and stories from today and the past 158 years
Adam Opel founded the company in Rüsselsheim in 1862. More than almost any other brand, Opel stands for individual mobility. Beginning with bicycles, then motorcycles, to cars and trucks, and now electric vehicles. Opel has been a carmaker since 1899, was the largest manufacturer in Germany in the 1920s and ‘30s, and powered the ”Wirtschaftswunder” economic miracle of the 1950s. For many, a Corsa or Kadett was their first car, and later an Ascona or Zafira was the first new car. Classic sports stars like the Manta, GT and Monza are lovingly restored; “young-timers” like the Calibra, Omega and Speedster are wildly tuned. Their owners then proudly present these dream cars at gatherings held by more than 900 Opel clubs. Club members carry the “Blitz” symbol in their hearts, just like the Opel employees in the factories, dealerships and at the headquarters in Rüsselsheim. Opel is full of emotions, full of personalities, full of stories. And all these can be found in our new storytelling category at int-media.opel.com.
