High-tech camera products for the infrared range – Laser 2000 cooperates with Xenics
The Belgian company Xenics was founded in 2000 as a spin-off of the IMEC research center in Leuven. Today, the manufacturer is one of the leading suppliers of InGaAs based infrared imaging products for the vision market. The products are used to scientific research, transportation, process monitoring and medical applications.
The new Laser 2000 partner’s infrared cameras and detectors feature high levels of accuracy, repeatability, and reliability. They can be used to control mechanical and computer-controlled production equipment such as machine tools, conveyors systems, and robotic arms. Easy integration into existing process control systems is ensured by a range of interfaces for data transmission, including Ethernet, CameraLink and CoaXPress.
Some of the smallest and most powerful products on the market are based on the manufacturer’s years of experience in the development and production of detector and readout chips. This also benefits the latest compact camera platform Dione, which is particularly suitable for the development of infrared-sensitive handheld devices due to its lightweight and space-saving design.
Thanks to the portfolio expansion, Laser 2000 will cover most infrared wavelengths from 1 to 14 µm and will also offer solutions for line-scan camera applications in addition to the usual area-scan camera systems. In addition, customers can look forward to the current development in the long-wave-infrared (LWIR) range for various applications, which is based on the extraordinary expertise in infrared imagers.
The existing successful partnership with Xenics and the French Laser 2000 team has now been extended to the DACH region and Scandinavia.
"We see great potential in the innovative application field of infrared wavelengths. With Xenics, we have now been able to win one of the major European camera manufacturers for short-wave infrared for our entire sales area. The systems are successfully used, for example, in thermal imaging and thermography. Our customers benefit from such innovative solutions," explains Andreas Börner, Managing Director at Laser 2000.
Paul Ryckaert, General Manager of Xenics, is also enthusiastic: "The cooperation with Laser 2000 opens up many new opportunities for us and enables further access to the European core markets. We look forward to start working with Laser 2000 and to expand our customer base in industrial and R&D markets."
Since 1986, Laser 2000 has been offering its customers the right solution for their demanding application in cooperation with world-leading manufacturers as a "customised solution from a single source". For Laser 2000 and its employees, photonics is both a passion and a profession.
We rely on innovation, highest quality and above all on the knowledge, creativity and enthusiasm of our employees. In making the right choice for their requirements, our customers are supported by an excellent team of scientists with doctorates and degrees who have an enormous wealth of experience.
