Resource-efficient solutions from ILLIG

ILLIG is active around the globe with its own subsidiaries and trading partners. The family business offers its customers innovative, economical and high-performance systems for the realization of resource-efficient and sustainable solutions made of cardboard, paper and plastic.

With "Circular Thinking!”, ILLIG bundles many years of technical know-how into the development of sustainable systems. The company supports packaging manufacturers in the design of recyclable applications with "Pactivity® 360", a holistic approach to package development.

“Circular Thinking!” solutions support the circular economy and the related goals of reduce, reuse, separate, recycle and renew. Optimized packaging can reduce the use of raw materials and make recycling possible in the first place. This “design for environment” principle can be seen on the market today in the form of ILLIG’s I-PACK®, a novel combination of plastic and paper, which reduces plastic use by 50%.

A packaging solution from the non-food sector is the first blister pack made of cardboard with a clear cellulose window for the Dr.BEST and Aquafresh toothbrush products from GSK Consumer Healthcare. The outer packaging can be completely recycled as paper. According to the distributor, the switch to cardboard saves more than 444 tons of plastic annually. This sustainable solution received the "German Packaging Award", the "European Carton Excellence Award" and the "World Star Global Packaging Award" in 2021. The industrial production of packaging made from thermoformable paper is the latest example of “Circular Thinking!” from ILLIG.
