Conclusion of proceedings for FIMA Maschinenbau

On March 21, 2022, the Heilbronn District Court concluded the insolvency proceedings of FIMA Maschinenbau GmbH following a successful reorganization. The company’s creditors had already voted unanimously in favor of the restructuring plan submitted by the insolvency administrator on January 11, 2022. Insolvency administrator Steffen Rauschenbusch from the law firm ERNESTUS Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH has thus secured the continued existence of the company at the site and the more than 100 jobs in Obersontheim.

The basis of the plan was the investment of Fontes Mittelstandskapital GmbH from Munich, which was announced at the beginning of December 2021, and which is contributing financially and in terms of personnel to FIMA Maschinenbau GmbH. The entry of Fontes‘ participation was completed in the Commercial Register on March 14, 2022.

"With the suspension by the Heilbronn District Court, the company has now successfully put the insolvency proceedings behind. The fact that we have now been able to conclude the proceedings with a positive result is the achievement of everyone involved. We wish FIMA and the entire team every success and all the best for the future," says attorney Steffen Rauschenbusch, who took office as insolvency administrator back in July 2019. He has kept the company going for more than two years and restored it to its former strength through restructuring measures.

Dr. Serdar Ertong, Managing Director of FIMA Maschinenbau GmbH, is very pleased with the decision to suspend the proceedings that has now been made: "We are very happy that we have now successfully concluded the proceedings and repositioned our company with a view to long-term and sustainable success. Together we will now continue on the way we have embarked upon. The course for the future has been set."

He is certain that FIMA Maschinenbau will emerge strengthened from the proceedings. Customers and suppliers continue to stand by the company without reservation. Despite the turbulence on the markets in the oil and gas segment, the first months of the year went according to plan. At the beginning of the year, four combustion air compressors were delivered to customers in the refinery industry. The order books for the near future are also well filled.

Outlook for the future

In addition to continuing its successful fan business, FIMA Maschinenbau GmbH and its new shareholder will focus on expanding compressor projects for dedicated applications. Further expansion of the Turkish production site FIMAPro will add the Basic fan series for price-sensitive markets and applications to the portfolio. Cooperation with research institutes and universities will promote innovation in promising markets. Increased internationalization with the establishment of a local service network will round off the business model.

The investments made by the new shareholders will enable FIMA to further expand its market leadership in core markets and add new business areas that serve the new needs in the gradual conversion of energy supply and ensure the sustainability of processes.
