Avoiding costly damage in transit

The global flow of goods is currently in disarray. In many of the world’s ports, ships are stuck with their cargo, containers have to be stored temporarily, trans-shipped several times and alternative transport routes have to be found. This is a considerable risk for sensitive industrial goods. ASPION will be demonstrating how costly transit damage can be safely avoided with its electronic shock data loggers including new features at LogiMAT in Stuttgart from May 31 to June 2, 2022 in Hall 8, Booth F20.

Compensation for damages with evidence: shock duration decisive

More and more industrial companies in the capital goods sector are discovering the advantages of digital shock data loggers. If transport damage cannot be proven as such to the insurance company, shippers are often left sitting on the costs. While shock indicators are very limited in their possibilities for evaluation, electronic shock recorders log damaging events in great detail. ASPION data loggers show that this works reliably over many months. With their energy-optimized, sophisticated analysis and evaluation electronics, they provide the decisive facts. "Not every rough loading process with high acceleration values necessarily leads to damage," explains Martina Wöhr, Managing Director of ASPION GmbH. "Rather, the duration of the shock is decisive here." The ASPION loggers protocol the latter with their so-called shock details down to the millisecond level per axis. In this way, they provide proof of when serious damage has occurred and also ensure secure supply chain processes.

Simple operation and market-leading price/performance ratio

The ASPION G-Log 2 is the first data logger to offer integrated shock/vibration testing in accordance with the European transport standard IEC 60721-3-2. "This means that, for the first time, compliance with transport conditions can be detected directly and without expert knowledge," comments Martina Wöhr.

Also due to its ease of use and a market-leading price/performance ratio, ASPION was awarded the Innovation Prize of the State of Baden-Württemberg in November 2021. This is underlined by the extensive further developments that ASPION will be presenting to an international trade audience for the first time during LogiMAT.

At LogiMAT, which will take place from May 31 to June 2, 2022 at the Stuttgart Trade Fair, ASPION will showcase the sophisticated, easy-to-use ASPION G-Log overall system consisting of wireless data loggers, powerful software and smartphone apps in hall 8 at booth F20. The new features support in particular globally operating companies with efficient and flexible processes in the cooperation with international business partners.
