Games galore for gaming fans of all ages at gamesweekberlin in the Colosseum

gamesweekberlin 2022 will be inviting game enthusiasts from Berlin and the games industry to come to a physical pop-up event in Berlin being held with the motto of "play. discover.connect" on Friday, 16 September and Saturday, 17 September. The Casual Business Friday invites the industry to talks, matchmaking and panel discussions. On Saturday, gaming fans of all ages will certainly get their money’s worth and be able to play international blockbuster titles and indie games, meet their favourite cosplayers, have VR experiences in the cinema, watch Let’s Plays on stage, or take part in the big Quiz Night Show. The pop-up event is backed by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, and the PC manufacturer TULPAR Gaming Notebook, a recent addition to the Berlin scene, is serving as the event’s hardware supplier and main sponsor.
gamesweekberlin 2022 will be held at the former Colosseum cinema in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district and will turn into a gaming paradise on two floors. For the first time after its closure two years ago, the historic movie theatre opens up for hundreds of game enthusiasts. The location will be a hub for the digital film and games industry following drafts of Tchoban Voss architects by taking the historical cinema into careful consideration.
16 September: talks, discussions and networking at Casual Business Friday
The Casual Business Friday will kick off with an exclusive Womenize! Games & Tech Luncheon (by invitation), followed by talks and panel discussions for professional visitors, covering such topics as: "The good, the bad and the ugly", a discussion about international and German business culture with the industry’s heroes and heroines and hidden champions (14.30-15.30), "Look Mom! I’m on TV", the Dev Booster expert panel on advertising, self-promotion and the underlying human dimension (15.30-16.30) and "Excellent industry without a home?", a debate about the development and importance of a Berlin co-working hub specifically aimed at game developers. gamesweekberlin and medianet berlinbrandenburg will then be hosting the GAMES Summer Reception in the evening for people to be able to network.
17 September: Gaming galore at the former Colosseum cinema Gaming fans of all ages can discover around 50 different games to their heart’s content on Saturday: Mario Kart 8 on the big cinema screen, Street Fighter Arcade Bash, Splatoon 3 for the first time in Germany, Pokéstops throughout the Colosseum, developer showcases by the Berlin-based studio YAGER of The Cycle: Final Frontier Season 2 and the Dev Booster winning team from New York Outfox Games with Ritual Night. In addition, there will be a wide selection of retro games and classics as well as games "made in Berlin" and G.ROUND or Mooneye umbrella stands. On the upper floor of the Colosseum, people will be able to discover games to hire from Blick aufs Brett and a selection of Kickstarter-funded games. Cosplay fans will have a chance to meet their favourite cosplayers, with Kohana Aneko, LittleMissBlueberry, Maike Huster and Yona Wonderlust all expected to attend.
The players that the visitors can compete against in the tournaments in the cinema are none other than the Twitch stars JustBecci, Ollimeee and BuBu. In addition, gaming fans will be able to have Virtual Reality experiences, cosplay presentations and the big Quiz Night show in the cinemas.
