Atlas S³T: Bridging the Gap in Weathering Testing Precision
Introducing the Atlas S³T system – the latest advancement from the leader in accelerated artificial and natural weathering testing. Designed for the flagship Weather-Ometer® Ci4400 and Ci5000 instruments, the Atlas S³T system makes it possible for the first time to continuously measure the specific surface temperature of individual samples during live testing. Surface temperature is a critical factor for the rate of photochemical reactions in weathering. But until now, the measurement of surface temperatures has not been feasible for multiple samples in laboratory weathering instruments. The result has been that surface temperature is often neglected during testing or only roughly estimated based on black and white standard or panel reference temperatures. At the core of the S³T system is…

Expand SUNTEST applications with Performance Extensions
Atlas Material Testing Technology, the global leader in weathering and lightfastness testing instruments and services, delivers tailored performance extensions for their SUNTEST® CPS+ and XLS+ xenon instruments to support unique testing needs. The world’s most widely used benchtop xenon instruments, the SUNTEST line excels in simulating the effects of natural sunlight, moisture, and heat to evaluate UV durability and light stability of products and materials. While SUNTEST CPS+ and XLS+ models are highly effective on their own, the addition of SunFlood and SunCool opens up new testing possibilities. SunFlood, the temperature-controlled water immersion unit, offers practical applications across a wide range of industries. For example, to assess color fastness of dental materials, a SUNTEST CPS+ or XLS+ paired…

Atlas introduces Sealed Lamp technology for the Ci4000 and Ci4400 Weather-Ometer® instruments
Atlas, the global leader in weathering testing technology, has just introduced Sealed Lamps for its Ci4000 and Ci4400 Weather-Ometers®. The unique preassembled design makes the world’s most-advanced weathering instruments even easier to operate and maintain. The Ci4000 and Ci4400 Weather-Ometers currently use interchangeable glass filters attenuating the xenon light spectrum to closely match light conditions of a product’s end-use environment. The process of changing filters requires taking apart the lamp assembly, which includes the xenon-arc lamp, inner glass filter, outer glass filter, and associated hardware. It can be quite tedious and offers the potential for human error resulting in lamp or filter breakage or incorrect filter installation. The new Atlas…

There’s something new under the sun: Right Light™ for the Xenotest® 220+
Atlas Material Testing Technology, the global leader in weathering technology and services has introduced the Right Light™ optical filter for the Xenotest® 220+ lightfastness testing instrument. Providing the most precise match to natural sunlight available, Right Light was previously available only for Atlas’ flagship Ci Weather-Ometer® weathering instruments. "It was challenging to develop the Right Light filter technology for the air-cooled Xenotest 220+ which now provides a better match than ever to natural sunlight," says Dr. Oliver D. Rahaeuser, Senior Product Manager, Atlas MTT. The UV cut-on wavelength of Right Light for Xenotest is much closer to the cut-on of natural solar radiation than that of earlier daylight filters, such as XENOCHROME® 300. Additionally, the total…
