Biomax Informatics and NeuroScios work together for better CNS clinical trial analysis
Today Biomax Informatics, Planegg, Germany and NeuroScios GmbH, St. Radegund, Austria announced their collaboration for advanced analysis of CNS clinical trials. Both partners were able to successfully demonstrate the valuable contribution of the neuroimaging software NICARA™ in the context of clinical trials for neurodegenerative disorders. NICARA offers automated processing and integrative ROI-based analyses of surface-based morphometry, DTI tractography and fMRI time series correlations. Biomax and NeuroScios are presenting at AD/PD meeting 2022 in Barcelona from 15-20 March 2022. NICARA allows for a detailed region-specific analysis of drug effects using surface-based morphometry of 360 cortical regions of interest (Rechberger et al., 2022). Drug-dependent alterations of brain morphometry can be correlated to…

Research consortium starts GENImmune project for new methods to design vaccines for efficient SARS-CoV-2 immunization
Biomax Informatics, PEPperPRINT and PMCR today announced the launch of a joint research project with partners from the University of Bonn, the Helmholtz Munich and the Technical University of Munich. Under the name GENImmune the consortium will develop new methods to design vaccines applied for efficient SARS-CoV-2 immunization. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and coordinated by Biomax Informatics. The first wave of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine projects have focused on the most obvious surface antigen ignoring the vulnerability against immune evasion by the evolution of new virus variants. At the same time a detailed understanding of the full life-cycle of the virus has been…

Biomax leads research project to improve diagnosis of heart failure
Today DARIO, a new research project for digital diagnostic support of heart failure, kicks-off. The project is coordinated by Biomax Informatics AG and partners with the Institute for Applied Medical Technology of the RWTH Aachen University and the Clinic for Cardiology, Angiology and Internal Intensive Care Medicine of the University Hospital RWTH Aachen. Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Biomax invests more than one million euros in the development of this clinical decision support system. Heart failure is one of the most frequent causes of hospitalization in Germany. In about half of all cases, the heart’s pumping capacity remains intact. This is known as heart failure…

Biomax Informatics: Universities use NeuroXM™ to study the connectome in drug-resistant epilepsy
Using Biomax Informatics‘ NeuroXM knowledge management platform, scientists from the Universities of Nottingham, Newcastle, Qingdao, Shanghai and Munich have studied the change in the connectome in drug-resistant epilepsy patients. They discovered that connectivity between and within brain regions can be a precise predictor for disease progression and epilepsy surgery outcome. The NeuroXM Brain Science Suite of Biomax was used to develop a knowledge model for high-resolution intra-areal connectivity with more than 50,000 cortical nodes and several million connections, as well as corresponding automated processing pipelines. This connectivity network could then be visualized and accessed via the web portal of NICARA™, the neuroimaging solution offered by Biomax. "Our experience shows us…

Biomax Informatics presents AILANI 2.0 for even more intelligent responses
Biomax Informatics announces the launch of version 2.0 of AILANI. AILANI 2.0 represents an even more modern and user-friendly version of Biomax Informatics’ semantic search platform. Via the new AILANI Cloud Interface, users can quickly and cost-effectively search through numerous publicly accessible, academic full-text documents, news feeds, clinical studies, and COVID-19-relevant patents, receiving intelligent responses to their questions, alongside their keyword search. Unlike in the first version of AILANI, people using the AILANI Cloud benefit from a document tagging system for collaborative purposes, as well as from the introduction of “personas,” which enable a different experience for distinct user groups. Through the new AILANI Enterprise solution, Biomax also offers customers…

Biomax Informatics develops knowledge management solution NeuroCONNECT for Human Brain Project
Biomax Informatics today announced the development of a novel knowledge management and database solution NeuroCONNECT for EBRAINS, the digital research infrastructure created by the EU-funded Human Brain Project. NeuroCONNECT allows the semantic integration and management of multimodal brain connectivity information and brain atlases in EBRAINS. The new system will be configured in the NeuroXM™ Brain Science Suite of Biomax. Connectome data will be enriched with metadata from anatomical ontologies, brain atlases and demographic information. This way NeuroCONNECT will become a knowledge hub for all connectome data in the EBRAINS infrastructure. "We are very proud to have been selected as a partner for EBRAINS and the Human Brain Project, the largest…
