Das vergangene Jahr war durch Waldbrände nie gekannten Ausmaßes, politische Unsicherheiten und Sorge um die soziale Stabilität auch in westlichen Gesellschaften geprägt. Es ist höchste Zeit, gegenzusteuern. Ein Lichtblick sind die regelmäßig stattfindenden SDG Labs als Zusammenkommen von Vertreterinnen und Vertretern aus Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Politik, die sich das Ziel gesetzt haben, die 17 Nachhaltigkeitsziele (Sustainable Development Goals) der Vereinten Nationen zu erreichen. Las Vegas is and remains the city of sin. This is where people gamble and party and it seems to have its own rules. However, it also happens that innovative competitions and trade fairs take place in the desert city. This is what happened in the first week of December with the AWS re:Invent. Ob Green Deal, Circular Economy Action Plan, Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz (LkSG) oder Ökodesign-Verordnung für nachhaltige Produkte (ESPR)– Unternehmen müssen sich immer mehr mit solchen Regeln und Verordnungen befassen. Gleichzeitig erwarten auch die Stakeholder, dass die Betriebe ihrerökologischen, ökonomischen und sozialenVerantwortung gerecht werden. Die Unternehmen müssen also ihr Geschäftsmodell, die Abläufe und Strukturen zunehmend so gestalten, dass verschiedene Nachhaltigkeitsaspekte systematisch erfasst, bewertet und optimiert werden können.
