Digitaltest is increasing Test Capabilities and Test Coverage
Digitaltest had a densely populated printed circuit board (PCB), and some test points were simply not accessible with fixture pins, because it was not even visible to the naked eye. In addition, the PCB under test contained a boundary-scan capable microchip that also had to be tested. In order to achieve the best possible test coverage, an optimal mix of in-circuit, functional and boundary scan tests had to be found for this application. Digitaltest exclusively used its own test system capabilities, i.e. no boundary scan devices from external manufacturers were used. Digitaltest erhöht Testmöglichkeiten und Testabdeckung
Digitaltest lag eine dicht bestückte Leiterplatte (PCB) vor, auf der einige Netze nicht mit Tester-Pins erreichbar waren. Zudem enthielt das zu testende PCB einen Boundary Scan fähigen Mikrochip, der ebenfalls getestet werden musste. Um nun die bestmögliche Testabdeckung zu erreichen, musste bei dieser Anwendung eine optimale Mischung aus In-Circuit-, Funktions– und Boundary Scan-Tests gefunden werden. Digitaltest nutzte dabei ausschließlich die eigenen Testsystemfähigkeiten, d.h. es kamen keine Boundary Scan-Geräte von externen Herstellern zum Einsatz. Um auch die eigene Testabdeckung erhöhen zu können wurde – zusätzlich zur Kontrolle der Boundary Scan-fähigen Komponente – das gleiche standardisierte Diagnoseprotokoll wie einem In-Circuit Test genutzt.
